What soil mixes do you guys use?

Hey guys,

Just wondering what soil mixes you guys are using? Eg soil, vermiculite, perlite, peat, sphagnam? and to what ratios? Just about to soak some seeds got ducksfoot, sweet island skunk, mazar-i-sharif. So i was just wondering what mix is best to sprout/veg/flower in. I have done simple soil grows with just plain old potting mix just not with all the perlite and vermiculite etc.

Thanks
Emps

young plants :

6 liters of universal potting soil
2 liters of cocos
2 liters of perlite

OR 4 liters of cocos instead of the perlite , works just as good

then 4 spoons of lime
2 spoons of organic npk pellets
4 spoons of worm castings or compost

older stronger plants can have 4-6 spoons of npk pellets in the mix and up to 500 ml of worm castings/compost

For flowering the mix changes to

10 spoons of npk pellets
600 ml worm castings/comost
2 spoons of lime instead of 4
2 spoons of bone meal
1 spoon of blood meal

always let the soil fermantate for 2-4 weeks minimal before using ,.

Just fill pots with your soil mix , make it moist and then cover the soil mix with something.

When you open it up few weeks later it is full of white hairs(=good fungae etc) , at this point , mix your soil one last time before using.

For the rest only add water , you can feed liquid or top dress after 6-8 weeks

its my first indoorgrow and im using:

60% BioBizz Allmix
20% standard pottingsoil (cheapest one)
20% Leca

ffof (fox farm ocean forest) is good right out of the bag, i add some perlite. For flower add worm castings and powdered lime, plus the perlite.

Mushroom and/or cow manure compost and about 20-25% perlite/vermiculite along with a couple of teaspoons of dolomite lime. Cheap and simple...works great.

Love me the LC Mix...it's in the "organics for Beginners' thread. Used FFOF with a year with marginal results and a bevy of problems caused by quality control: gnats, no buffer, poor mixes, etc

When I switched to LC, my yields picked up and I don't have to fert nearly as much.

When I was new, I really feared mixing my own soil...I now regret not having tried it sooner.

2cf promix
2cf miracle grow organic choice (or ocenan forest 1.5cf)
1.5 cups bone meal
1.5 cups blood meal
1cf perlite
3/4 cup dolymite lime

for use with rooted clones or to transplant, not for seeds. water only from start to finish. look up blazeoneup, his shit is off the rip!

I use:

50% coco coir
20% mix of pro-mix, peat, and recycled medium
20% mushroom compost(not all mushroom compost is organic! Worm castings
is better)
5% composted manure/humus
5% fine clay

I add the following per gallon to this mix:
2 tbsp bone meal
2 tbsp Espoma Flower-Tone
1 tbsp Espoma Bio-Tone StarterPlus
1 tbsp Dolomite lime(I may increase this)

I've been really happy with this mix. Plants never burn and it has a bunch of food for the entire grow.

if i only add water and they go a lil def in the last 2 weeks , the taste is real good , if i topdress too much or feed liquids too much , it will show.

But only water and this mix gives real nice clean burning weed that is nice to smoke pure after 10 days dry. My guerillia plants taste best cuz i never gave them anything extra

Tastiest weed I've ever grown! I love how smooth it is straight off the plant. I can just quick dry it, smoke it, and it's still smooth. I never could manage that with my old chemical growing style.

i use 20% worm castings, 30% cheap organic potting soil(whatevers available), 20%composted cow manure and 30%perlite....then for every watering i use compost tea(bubbled for a day or two with molasses...i've never had any problems so far, and it's very simple.

I have a mixture of Pro mix BX/ FFOF/ FFLW / perlite/ and a bag of happy frog. I had about 8 bag of FF stuff and a bag of happy frog and mixed (very precisely) with a trash can of pro mix and two bags of perlite. I was able to bring a large rubbermaid tote full of bags and two buckets of used FFOF with me, I am in a remote area where nothing is really available locally. I managed the bail of Pro mix along the way so that is what I have to work with.

Along with my magic mixture I also recycle my soil after use. I screen out any roots, and flush very well before reusing it. FF nutes as well. I know this is not the desired route but it is all I have available. I have almost two trash cans full, but it has to last....for a while.
