What's new

Com'on get hempy!

OK, it's time to start again! The last run was aborted due to surgery, mine not the plants, so it's time to start anew...

I was blessed by a friend with clones from his moms, a Bubba Kush and a Papaya. The clones arrived about two weeks ago and have been recovering/vegging in their new pots since. The papaya arrived with a broken stem, but has survived well with nothing more than a large knot where the break occurred. The bubba slowed while it recovered, but has spit out a few new nodes and was ready to clone today.

I also had two plants that were left from the last run that managed to survive sever dehydration and bounced back. They were seedlings when I went into the hospital, so they could both be boys for all I know. Anyway, I cloned them along with the bubba, and will flower out when the moms are established. One thing I learned while working up the last batch was how LONG a process it is to try and get a perpetual established and rolling, this starting over is a pain in the ass, but the gift from Ja and mi amigo of know genetics and sex will definitely speed things along. The moms are already establishing themselves and there is already one bubba that will go into flower in about two weeks. The papaya should be following along soon, now that she is throwing new nodes. She should be ready to clone by the end of the week or the beginning of next week.

Now, the method. I am really enamored of the hempy method, but I do not have the cash to buy hydro nutes right now, and bubbling the nutes I have is a right pain in the ass (I have Earth Juice.) I have been reading up on hempybucqets modification and it seems ideal to what I need to do now. The last run using the Earth Juice with the 100% pearlite only was showing deficiencies right quick, so if I want to grow some decent babies, I need to change something quick. Going back to soil is the only real answer, but combining it with the hempy will hopefully be the best of both worlds. I just hope I can get something going that I can repeat. This constant changing really sucks..... but as soon as I get the setup stabilized, I will do something like get a new 600w hps or something and have to start over again!

Anywho... a couple of pics just to have something to post...

Bubba mom after first clone donation:

Papaya mom vegging to donate later this week, look at the base and you can see the ring/knot where the stem broke. I'm SOOOOOOO glad she survived!

The clone tray. The top left is the Bubba, the bottom and right are the bagseeders. The other is a flower plant I'm cloning for my wife. Never tried another type of plant, so this is pretty cool.

That's it for now. Updates will probably be few while I'm ramping up, but I'll post when I do anything!

Thanks for reading!

Peace and Ja bless. :joint:

I tried to post this last night, but I guess the server was too busy to upload pics. I fed the girls on 9-10 for the first time with with my Earth Juice (1/2 tsp Grow, 1/4 tsp Bloom, 1/4 tsp Catalyst, and a tiny - maybe 1ml - drizzle of molasses per gal) and holy shit, they put on a 3/4 inch of new grow on each side shoot. I was able to get the Papaya cloned yesterday, and added a little water to the cloner tray. It was amazing how much they exploded and how healthy the moms are looking. The side growth on the Papaya is amazing! From everything I've read on supercropping, this is exactly what is supposed to happen. So, even though it added an extra week of recovery time, I think I will end up being very happy that the main stem on her got broken in the mail (she was packaged VERY well and carefully, it had to have just been rough handling...) I figure I'll keep the same feeding concentration until I need more clones, to keep the moms from getting too big. The bagseed unknowns have some new side shoots starting, but you can really see how the soil works better with the Earth Juice than using it in any hydro setup. No matter what they claim, this stuff is not hydro nutes. When I decide to go hydro, I will get the PBP stuff. It seems like what I've read says this stuff good to use straight hydro and is organic.

Here is the Papaya post-cloning:

Here's Bubba recovering and getting bigger:

Time to update

Time to update

I am going to put a tut on how I have set up my Hempy bucquet cups. If anyone sees any glaring errors in my setup, or has another way of doing it, please let me know. This is just my best effort to convert the technique down to this small size. Once I get by big light (later THIS WEEK!!!!!!) I will be setting up 3 gallon Hempy bucquets. Here we go...

First take a 22oz cup and drill a 1/2 hole

Cover the hole on the inside with a piece of polyfill to keep your pearlite from pouring out every time you water. Fill the cup up over the level of the hole with your pearlite.

Fold the polyfil over the top of your pearlite. This will keep the soil from mixing down in with the pearlite, but the water roots will still make their way down through to the res.

Take your freshly rooted clone...

And set it on the polyfil.

Fill in around the clones roots with your soil mix and water until it comes out the overflow hole.

Then just feed and water when the cup feels light! That's it! They seem happy in their new homes...

The moms seem the be recovering and growing happy. I took 2 new cuts from the Papaya and 1 new from the Bubba. Lots of preflowers on the moms, bitches are definitely gonna flower quick and easy. The Papaya mom is getting bigger faster and is healthier and bushier than the Bubba all the way around (she is on the right below). I may take a clone and make a new Bubba mom, but break the main stem so she is as healthy as the Papaya!

Everything is looking good... :joint:

Quick update. The papaya is growing like a weed (he he), I have already taken 7 clones off of her and the first two are in their hempy cups already and will go into flower in about a week. The bubba is lagging behind, but has donated three clones with one in her cup and going to flower with the first two papayas.

Looking good and staying the course. Will update again when flowering commences.

Oh, and I get to smoke tomorrow night! Piss test in the AM!!!!

Whohoo!!

Peace out y'all :joint:

The wife and I just got back from WalMart and enjoyed a snuffull of sample "b". I have not yet tried "a" yet, I would hazard that "a" is the organic. We shall see. I will give a full report after I have some "a" tomorrow. Report will probably be typed out Monday.

Thank g-d I'm high right now!!!!!!!!!

Would this work with the fox farms soil trio?

Would bet on it. Anything that would give a good zone for the microbes to flourish. The better the soil in the small area there is for soil will do nothing but help the girls.

The little cups have worked great. I just finished smokin the 4th one to finish. They have been giving about an 1/8 per plant so far. The papaya has been all I have been able to finish so far, the bubba has just been giving me trouble.

Y'all know I got a 600w HPS, right? Stay tuned for a new thread.

6 gal. Hempy bucquets
3 papaya and 1 bagseed girl who tastes great
600w HPS

Got about a months worth of construction (mount light, run ventilation, and build scrubber) to finish and a Stanley blower to purchase.

Stay tuned.

Just last month a soil grower said he wanted to try hydro. I told him to start his plants in soil then transplant into hempy. I was called a fucking idiot, lol. He tried rockwool...failed....hates hydro will never try it again. Good to see that some people aren't scared to try things differently. Good job.

Thanks Japan. I know almost nothing so I am willing to try anything new to see if it works, as long as the theory behind it seems sound. I really like the hempy hybrid system that Hempybucquet came up with. It really works well having a good organic soil and a built-it reservoir makes the process easier for those of us who do a bit of traveling.

Trust me, you're not a fucking idiot!

Still growing. Buying the blower tomorrow, the 2 girls I'm gonna scrog for the 600w cab are small but vegging well. they are getting topped tomorrow, maybe they will stop throwing those retarded single blade leaves soon. They are both clones off a reveg. They sure are growing quick though. I'm gonna keep topping them until they get transplanted into their 6 gallon containers.

Maybe I'll take a pic or two. I'm kinda lazy, but I'll try to remember when I top tomorrow.
