VerdantGreen's quarters - 250HPS organic mod.scrog

250 watters kick another goal.

Looks like some tasty shit can't wait to see those other strains in action.

Keep it up man! (or girl)

Now that i think about it, i wonder what cheese i've tasted before.

I know i've tried some lower grade blue cheese, but i've also tasted some plain cheese that was VERY nice. It couldn't have been the true UK version coz that was only passed around as clone. Must have been a cross with the UK version, or maybe the GHSC version. I'd be interested to know.

Verdant, very impressive results with a 250hps and mod scrog. We have the same light, the same general strategy, and the same mod-SCROG (well, mostly)

Yet, you outyield me by almost 100 g per harvest. Which leads me to beleive that I must get better genetics. Love those plants. Fine work indeed!!!

EDIT: VERY EVEN CANOPY, what's your training routine like? I typically traing until about 1-2 weeks in, but find I should be training more.

Here's a coupla pictures of my SCROGS, I am going to be lowering my height a bit too!

Like you said otherwhitemeat, I haven't seen anyone pull even close to this in a similar setup. Makes me a bit scared to try it. Get all amped, set it up and pull 35% of what I expect.

herd - thanks for stopping by - yeah i have had'; a smoke of it and it seems to get better every time i run it. the perfect weed to smoke when you want to chill but need to keep your wits about you - very clear headed.

neon - hi - yeah i will be interested to see how the Power plant compares to the MMG which is a similar speedy sativa high.

Bill O'Reilly- thanks - yeah 250's are a great light ;)
p.s. yeah i'm a bloke

bootz - i cant wait to try the real cheese. as i said the GH version is pretty stable and nice smoke.

otherwhitemeat - love your cab and the way you've set up the modular! tbh it's nice to see some others weighing in that are already doing mod. i think it really gives the best of scrog without the drawbacks
about yield - i think it may be as simple as my cab having a bigger footprint than yours - mine is just over 2' wide by 2' deep. i suspect yours is a bit smaller and so you dont have room for quite as many buds. if i built mine again (and believe me i wont be doing that for a while:D ) i would probably make it 70x65 to see if i could squeeze a little more out of the 250. once you get over 50-60ish watts/sq foot you dont get much more yield for the extra watts - better to have more space imo.
i also use a lot of soil - 4x4 gallons - big pots help too.
training - there is no set method really - i just wrestle with em ;) but i tend to veg them quite a bit (before i fit the screen and flip) and i think you have to see scrog as a 3 dimensional box to fill rather than a flat plate. i did talk about training some more a few pages back. i really need to put an index on the thread or something.

milehighmedical - see my response to owm above - yield isnt everything ;) i actually feel a bit vulgar talking about yield even though im quite proud of the performance i'm getting. i really rate my diamond reflector too.
basically i didnt skimp when i set up the cab because i only wanted to buy everything once rather than have to replace anything that i tried to get on the cheep!.

---

in other news i just ordered a cmh bulb. want to see what difference it makes and although the stretch i get is useful i think the interndals could be a bit smaller. you only have to take a look at the spectrum of an hps to see it is very far removed from daylight.

also - does anyone have any insight on this leaf curl im getting on the Power Plant??. none of the others have it... not too worried but i like to know what these things are.

I would think the curl is more from dry than wet. Mine do that towards the end of bloom when I let the plant dry out.

Hi there V.G,

I´ve spent a week reading your full thread and all I can say is that
your scrog technique is on what I would call : green thumb!

I did a scrog setup in my last run.
I bilt six modular scrog beds. The beds were like Soma Style, with some wheels at
the bottom giving some good mobility to my plants.

In the beggining they were doing fine.
Filling out the screen, blooming nicely...

And them I have problem with temperature, mites and conchoniles.
They fucked up my entire grow.

I just ended with a few grams for my stash.
Now I rebuild my setup and sooner I will start my new grow run.

My doubt about the streching pos-blooming is:

Some of my diesels, strech so much, that some branches were at 40 cm high.
The buds didn´t fill out the branch.
Some of them, those one that have been just feeling the screen, trainned to
stay below the screen, the buds were all way down the branches.

As it was my first scrog attemp, I didn´t know for sure:

1- if I put them into flower as soon as they reach the screem,
2- if I veg them more for a few weeks, training them below the screen letting them
fill the screen and them turn to flower,

3- if I let the branches go through the scream getting bigger and bigger, and them
put them into flower.

I my pratice, I noticed that the compact branches next to the screen, have been nicer filled with buds, than the big branches wich have streched a lot.

In your case, how this works?
Do your bigger branches, have been all filled with buds?

You have reach my dream as a grower:
Up to 1g/watt using organic. So you may be glad with your garden

Anyway, you thread have been teached me a lot.
Thankx for all the energy that you have spent on it.

Good luck until the harvest!

All the best,

NOF.

hey NOF

looks like you need to "dial in" some strains with your scrog method.

once you've grown out a certain type of genetics its much easier to judge how to run the plant next time round. and what are conchoniles? hehe ima google that now.

v, good luck with your leaf curl, lemme know what it was once you solve it? thanks buddy

My guess is that your Power Plant would like a little less nutes. maybe a flush and then moderate nutes. They're probably finishing up now?

They sure have nice looking buds!
