Can I put a 600w bulb in a 430w ballast?

I know if you put a lower watt bulb in a higher watt ballast it will blow up, but will I just get 430watts out of this 600watt bulb? money is tight right now.

ALso do you think 430watt HPS is sufficient for one mother plant?

Is a 1000W too much?

i think you have it backwards...if it was a 600 watt ballast, and a lower wattage bulb, it would be fine.

your way is no good.

oh, and use same wattage ballast with same wattage bulb you wouldn't believe how many ppl try to put a 1000w bulb in a 600w ballast and get blown up...

I posted this yesterday, this should be a sticky or something... every week or so someone asks if they can use a 400 in a 600 or a 600 in a 400 or a 600 in a 1000 blah blah blah

only use a 400 in a 400 a 600 in a 600 and a 1000 in a 1000 or your asking for trouble

Don't mess around with anything electrical that you have no experience with... and be careful of what kind of advice you get when it comes to electrical wiring....ask an electrician period....Only use like for like and it's intened purpose regardless how tight cash is as we've all been there. Play safe....

Peace,
Jazz
