wet weed?!!?

suup,

so i split an o with my roommates 4 way and when i got home from school there was my sack on my desk. i was like wtf thats a quarter? so i weighed it out and it was 7.0 grams. the weed looks and smokes alot like a nug i got off fresh from my friends plant awhile back. never grown weed (sucessfully, lol) myself. anyways i basically know its wet. but heres the question. how much can you expect weed to shrink in weight after a full cure. i saved a 1 gram nug so im going to come up with a % weight loss.

I don't think the 75% weight loss consensus gets to your issue.

While I agree with the 50-75% loss from cut to cure, it's not a straight line decrease. If we agree that 75% of a bud's weight will be lost in the dry/cure process, I suggest that a full 50% is actually lost in the first 24-48 hours after drying starts. What I am getting at is that you might not lose much depending on where yours is in the drying process.

For example:

1oz. fresh cut might end up 1/4oz. of nicely dried and cured
BUT
1oz. 3 days into drying might end up 3/4oz. of nicely dried and cured

See what I'm getting at? Yours might need some drying and curing, but don't assume that all is lost.

Had a dealer come to me once with a sack of fresh 'Chronic' he called it. Said the grower spotted him a deal and just threw an ounce worth in a bag.

I told him he got jacked and to lay it out so it wouldn't mold, man was he pissed when he re-weighed it dry.
