How well are you aerating your res?

well in my 11 gallon res I have a long strip of bubbles and the overflow makes the rest using ebb & flow

that does the job

Would this work?

2 tote DWC (one above the other) Pump in bottom with long riser to spraybar for the roots (spraybar aerates the nutes). Cut out return area in top tote has a bunch of small holes instead of one big one. Wouldn't this aerate the nutes on their fall back to the res tote? AND what if you added lava rock to the res tote. Wouldn't that further aerate the nutes?

I have seen that done there was like a 20gal rev up high on a shelf that had 4 1inch outlet fittings on it and a 250gph pump from the res pumping up the the 20gal, then the water would come out in 4 little waterfalls back to the res. didnt even use and air pump in the system. it always made me thirsty when i saw it for some reason

I use a 50l/h pump with a roughly 1m long airhose for my 90l res. Works fine, roots look healthy and plants rigorous.

I cheat also. I have a 10 bucket grow that has no airstones, no airpump, just a Dolphin Amp-Master water pump, SUPER energy efficient! Cheating is fun, and cost effective, I also don't need a chiller!: ;) :nanana:

Do you use the fan to blow off the water for a cooling effect, have you measured this? Is it effective?

Yep, it cools down the water between 5-10 degrees F. I have insulated my buckets, and the res is out of the grow room itself, so the water stays right around 70 degrees.

also to aid in oxygenation and to help the system colonize rapidly correct? :nanana:

This is about 40$ at petco. Aquaclear filters are great and can keep your res free of ALGAE.

Good thinking, hard to see it hindering, easy to see it helping......

Also, for recirc active systems, a simple T piece interrupting your feed [up to the table] pipe, the stem of the T going to an L piece, then a tap directed down at your water makes for a very good, adjustable waterfall.

genius, just get a larger pump than you need and you could create the gushing water via/forced venturi style waterfall createing a ton of oxygen with no air pump need and not as much vertical height as a regular waterfall.

best of all its completely flexible and movable
