Turned Down In Colorado

Correct!!!
A caregiver can do anything and everything a patient can do with MMJU EXCEPT CONSUME.
I heard that one cg was going to use the excuse of dose adjusting if caught smoking. Don't think it'll work.

here in colorado the caregiver used to get their own card, now i think the patient gets a med card and the caregiver is listed on it "i think". i meen it only makes sense being if my patient is in bed with major back trauma how is she going to get her meds?. their are alot of gray areas in the whole thing but some of the grey areas work for us and others work against us. caregivers are not protected if they get caught smoking..but..caregivers do have the same rights as far as carrying, holding, growing, drying, buying etc. alot of people and dispensaries dont even know what the law states and alot of them are clearly in violation of those terms.

Here is the problem with caregivers entering the club... If your patient just got his/her card and filled you in on the caregiver slot and all you have is a copy of his/her paperwork, rather than a copy patients actual card with yr name on it.

I hesitate to even post this but one could simply white-out there MMJ application caregiver slot, make copies (of it blank) and then re-write yr name back in...

Now yr left with a bunch of blank forms all yr buddies could put there name on and re-copy giving the club the illusion of a freshly copied paperwork with a "fake cargiver" listed. The club has no-way of calling the mmj registry and confirming that you are the "new caregiver"

Not to mention after sept 1st the State decided that they wont re-send cards anymore simply for a change of caregiver. Leaving your previous Caregivers name on yr actual card, even after you changed. Nor are they sending letters to cargivers anymore that there patients have changed like they used to...

So Really its a nightmear for dispensary owners... The states system has no checks in place for caregiver fraud, no way to check if someone is actually a caregiver and noway to know if someone changed caregivers to you.

Also one can change caregivers as many times as he/she pleases and has a 10 day grace period to turn in the form... but it takes effect the moment its signed.. one could sign up as a caregiver for the day under someone and simply never turn it in to the state basiclly giving them a free 10 day pass to shop at all dispensarys from the day its signed...

(I have done this for Direct TV install guys and repair men.. Before they enter the club I Assign them my caregiver status by signing a change of caregiver form over to the "cable man" as hes working in the club he is my caregiver.. and legal in the club, once his work is completed I shred the document and become my own again) now you see why being a caregiver doesnt really mean jack in the eyes of a dispensary owner, and its so scary to deal with them.

Its Known that the health dept wants nothing to do with MMJ for 2 years. the head of the dept is so sick of dealing with it he simply stated.... "I'm done with this for the rest of my term" The likely replacement is very MMJ friendly and def a step in the right direction
so this caregiver loophole is here to stay for a bit =<

I dont blame patients chocie for there policy of no caregivers... I dont think its bad business either just smart very smart... there not willing to risk it at there clinic shows there experience at running a dispensary. (weather you like them or not)

BioJenn You were let in my club because I trust you afterall you were able to tell me my ICmag handle... my staff let you in.... in violation of my own personal rules. at Delta9 we just want to see yr patients card (i understand its coming the long wait is on brotha) because it will have yr name listed on it as her caregiver. I wont allow caregivers in the club with change of caregiver paperwork or new application paperwork... due to the various ways one could commit fraud with these documents....

I am Willing to hear any ideas from anyone on how i can let caregivers in the club who only have the "change of caregiver form" but I just dont know anyway to verify that? please help if you got an idea...

I hope this explains a lil bout the caregiver nightmare and clubs...
P.S. my personal stance is we need to fix this problem! I believe it only makes sence for the ill to be able to have there caregiver go out and get them meds... I want to see the State step in a fix this! tho I fear its to crazy at the moment for anyone to hear my cry, and sick patients the most sick are the ones who will feel the pain when they are forced to make the trip themselves because caregivers are refused entry

Having an ID card is the only way leo can verify you are legal, so I can understand dispensaries not letting you in without it. With that being said, there should be a speedy process by which you can get an ID. Similar to the DMV where you show up at the Dep. of Health with your rec. and listed caregiver and they print you an ID on the spot within minutes. They charge you for the total cost of producing an ID, so when you change caregivers you can go and get a new ID that day.

^^^I don't know about the caregiver form, but the registry application definitely has to be notarized now.

right my correction, change of caregiver and new applications mush be notarized.

I don't see how people could still slip through the cracks this way.

easy being they are only notarizing that you are indeed the patient /caregiver and they watch you sign and then they sign..the notary does not know if the dispensary or DR is legit just that the person applying is indeed that person. grey areas!

CDPHE just redid their web site; at one point they had both the old and new rules, and the old and new forms, there at the same time!

There was a comment earlier in this thread that they don't even want to deal with MMJ; I heard the same thing from my doc, who has to deal with them regularly.

Those poor overworked bureaucrats! I hope they're buried up to their necks in applications for the next few years. $90 to take two months to push a piece of paper from one side of the desk to the other!

Even though I have a long-standing chronic pain condition with doctor's records to back it up, my doc won't write me a recommendation unless I go through a course of treatment with prescription muscle relaxants and pain killers, and prove that they that they have intolerable side effects or aren't effective. He's not a bad doc, just seems to be afraid of the legal implications.

This is a great example what's wrong with the whole system as it is. I guess if I make myself ill with prescriptions, I might get a recommendation.

I could go chase around and find a doc to write me a pass, but fuck it, I don't have any tolerance for getting jerked around. I flew under the radar for years, no problems. I'll be back to it soon enough.

seems like its time to get a new Doc i would say

Found one to write the rec; that is done.

Yeah, I am still kind of pissed on the response that I had to go through some kind of prescription drug treatment before MMJ could be considered; I think that was his chickenshit way of turning me down without actually saying no. Certainly the amendment doesn't say anything like that...I have the condition, and I have been getting treatment for it, those are the qualifiers.

I may be looking for a new doc in any case due to a job and insurance change.
