Oil from Fan Leaves?

Sorry if this has been covered a million times, I searched.

I just culled some males so I've got a bunch of fan leaves. I was thinking of trying to make some ISO oil. Is it worth it, will I get anything or am I wasting my time? The leaves do seem to get me a little high if I smoke them but it's mild. Would any oil I get just end up being chlorophyll and tasting like crap? I know the oil is usually made from bud and bud trim.

Fan's from males? I'd call it a waste friend, it'll be dark as sin and probably taste worse.

yeah man, males thc percentage is close to zilch.

imo the 'high' your getting from smoking em is probably just from lack of oxygen / breathing in smoke..

Essential oils are much differant that thc oil, aka hash oil.

When anyone is making hash oil the point is to dissolve the microscopic oil that are in the heads of the trichomes, and leave the rest out. Its a selective proccess with some solvents working much better than others. Co2,propane, and butane are the best for grabbing the least amount of garbage and only the good stuff. You dissolve the hash oil in the solvent and then dissolve the solvent from the oil.

On the other hand marijuana contains 1000's chemicals and materials, only a small tiny fraction of the pot plant actually contains cannabinoids. Thc, cbd, cbn, thcV...... only make up a tiny fraction of the plant. Almost exclusivley down to buds and bud leaf only.

If you see trichomes, you see material that can be used for extraction, and yes I've seen males that produce trichomes, so yes they could be used.

There are other essential oils in the plant though. But they DO NOT contain any cannabinoids. They have other uses yes, but they are not hash oil. They may get you buzzed, but its not hash oil its essential hemp oil.

Your best bet is if you want to make hash oil really bad is to buy the cheapest shwag weed you can find, and then make oil out of it. No matter how bad it was to start with, youll end up with gold in the end.

I would advise NEVER to use isopropyl alcohol, EVER. When you smoke any remnents up of ressidue from the isopropyl alcohol your ingesting the same as drinking it. You can blind yourself from drinking and smoking too much isopropyl alcohol. If you dont want to use gas use ethanol (everclear 190 proof), it has the same solubility and is totally safe to smoke or vape.

A book worth reading on the subject is Marijuana Chemistry, by Michael Starks. You will be amazed at some of his conclusions.
