How many lights can you cram under one 1000w horizontal hood?

I think my hoods are 24x20inches, I know this guy who fits 20-25 under each which is amazing, especially since he veg's them for 3 weeks. Super efficient grow.

I was just wondering how many you all do.

I think he's talking about plants.

1000w/50w(lowest recommended watts per square foot)= 20 square feet (max area 1000w can cover)

So that's about a 4.5ft x 4.5ft area to grow in.
4.5 ft = 54 In

The following specs are for a grow room of the above size:
5" square pots: about 100 will fit
6" square pots: about 81 will fit
7" square pots: about 49 will fit
8" square pots: about 36 will fit

Sorry for the rambling. I am high lol

Hope this helps a little anyways.. at least you can see the math there and use the same kind of reasoning for any sized grow room.

Haha. I can prolly fit 2,400 lights in a hood that size.(5 per sq inch) Led's of course
And I could fit a cool five hundred under one lamp (1000w mh) in that hood. Seedlings of course. what is it that your trying to accomplish? That would be the question.

Okay why not concentrate on effeciency instead of trying to "cram" as many as you can under the hood. Goals, style of growing,genetics etc. What do YOU want to do with it? Sometimes less is more. No set answer.

I have 2 plants in flower and 6 plants vegging. 2 "hoods" 299 watts, and 138 in the other. Sometimes 184 if I veg 8 plants or 8 seeds.

As for trouble, 8 plants is 1-3 felony and the weight if done right without main stem and rootball would be less than an ounce to maybe 44 grams. Possible felony.

You might want to add in any scales and baggies on your trouble radar.

mannnnn my buddy first ever being in trouble got cultivation of marijuana a 3rd degree felony for "1" plant!!! 1 or 999 same shit just dont go over a 1000!
