hey all,

i have a small magnesium deficiency in my grow area and i recently picked up a bag of this stuff:

Magnesium Sulphate

my plants are in early flower and i would NOT like to use this as a foliar spray as it recommends for tobacco plants on the lable. To all those grow guru's out there can this powder be disolved into water and fed to the roots? and if so what amount per liter should i use?

thanks in advance !

oldbootz,
Absolutely yes you can use that to water your plant. It's a common chemical that's used to enhance soil magnesium.

Now for the difficult part...and since I'm drunk and stoned, I'm going to leave the conversions up to you.

I use 1/4 teaspoon per gallon as a maintenance dose. For treatment of a deficiency, double that. I'd suggest maximum of a full teaspoon of epsom salts (mag sulphate-same thing) per gallon.
Good luck...

Magnesium Sulphate will work great. I would not use it alone, add it to your nutrient solution next time you need to water. ET may have the right amount.

I've made my own ferts from scratch for over 25 years...

ahh thanks guys. although its going to be hell to measure out 1/16 of a teaspoon for liter hehehe..

im just going to mix half a teaspoon with 5liters and that should be just stronger than EvilTwins maintenance dose.

Thanks again :)

Oldbootz,
That sounds like a good starting dose.

One thing I wanted to mention to you is that it's somewhat hard to dissolve. So it's best to mix it with warm water first. Then add it to your res. Good luck.
