In my area, they count plants- so no SOG for me. Funny part is, they generally "take it as it's found" Meaning if you have a huge plant, 1 plant only, and it really could be harvested now,........they tend to charge it as growing 1 plant.
If you had harvested the same plant, got 1 pound green weight, they bust you, they charge you for 1 pound MJ - WAAAYYY bigger penalties.
20 plants in a SOG, micro cabinet grow, little itty bitty popcorn sticks, still seedling stage, = felony, growing too many plants, prison time, horrible mess.
Same 20 plants, just harvested, total of 2 oz. bud, = misdemeanor.
1 plant, huge, would harvest a pound, still growing = misdemeanor, possible jail time (or not)......possibly just probation.
Same plant, you just trimmed, got 1 pound,= prison time, felony, huge mess.

I have a un-used 1000watt laying around might have to veg a plant for a month or two and see what I get

If you're worried about doing time then don't bother growing.

There were also supplemental lights, so it went over 1,000 watts with flouro's. It was scrogged.
Many medical states allow 12 plants.
It's best to get the most out of those 12 plants.

i would love it if cultivation of 1 plant = misdemeanor here, and here anything over 20 gms is a felony.

Yes easy seen it done many times .And that usaly with a months veg. If you look at nbg scrog on here, ok its a scrog .
But he got 18 oz which is over a pound of one plant under one 400 watt bulb.

I get 9 to 10 ounces reliably off a 3x3 sog using a 400w hps and that's with very casual management and a medium yield White Widow pheno.
But with only one plant...that's a more difficult situation. I'd shoot for a scrog grow and you'll reach that goal easy.
There was a picture of a haze scrog floating around about a year ago. The screen was covered with huge colas...surely more then a pound. But I don't know the wattage on that. Be prepared for a little work though.
Why can't you have more plants?

These two should EASILY kill 1lb per plant, prob 1.5 They are in a 4x8 screen with two lights. 5gals per.

Check the thread in my sig. I cut tops 6/8 and threw them in the humidity dome. A few weeks later they were rooted and then into the veg system. They started flowering early Aug (see thread for exact dates) Those are two Aussie Blues, they vegged in those 5gal buckets until the bigger one was about 36". I had two other plants on the scrog with them, but I culled them at week 5 in flower because they were worthless. Today is the day 63 for the ABs so I'll update my thread later.

Anybody interested in growing trees should check out growing under bare vertical bulbs. Google search: "krusty buckets" and/or "Doubleds." These guys are pulling 3-4lb+ per.

You will need WAY more veg time than 4 weeks to yield a pound per plant indoors. More like 4 months veg, then you could get a plant that large.
Deffinetly not true 3-5 weeks veg with every thing dialed in Scrog no problem 1 plant 1lb plus
