Ok Oob sounds good so far keep those beans sprouting to fill the footprint on that 400 maybe three every ten days to keep it steady (now assuming fem beans) perpetual harvests are great. Temps are a little high I'd fix that quick before it poses a problem. As for nutes chemical or organic? Over the counter you say. Either a fish emulsion guano kelp combo Lil molasses. Or a chemical like miracle grow or peters and yeah if going 12-12 from seed go right to bloom nutes I would personally take the drive to a hydro store borrow a car park around the corner whatever but getting some better nute selection and supplements is worth it. Jmo. Good luck

Hey oobnuker, how did the phototron work out?

PA is right, I'd consider a veg formula early on, transition through stretch and then bloom formula. If your strain is sativa or sativa dominant, you won't need as much nitrogen cause they'll stretch stretch stretch.

Even though you have plenty of light, the distance form the canopy can affect stretch. Sometimes it's easier to go the first week or two with cool color cfls. However, depending on the strain and the stretch you'll experience, the big lamp may be just the thing for 12/12 from seed. Good luck with your grows.

if you want to go one part and u want a nute esp for cannabis(has extra cal mag) u could try floranova bloom. it really coulndt be easier exept for the shaking of the bottle youll have to do. or shultz liquid bloom nutes from home depot or lowes or some local greenhouse, theese are like 8$ i think, the floronova youll have to get a hydro store on or offline for around 30$. u also might want to consider two weeks of 20/4 lighting considering plants dont bloom on day 14 of twelve twelve from seed anyways but grow a little longer, this way youll have a longer veg in pretty much the same time anyways, read the 12 12 forum, alot of plants coming down in 80 plus days, u can do that time frame from seed with a normal veg period for a few weeks with bigger yeild in the end one would think imo.

I kinda got the same set up as you right now man, running 12/12.. 400watt hps, using guano / casting teas for nutrients and iv got 4 plants going..

hoping that they're all female.. but i'm sure atleast one of em will be male..

but its not really a big deal seeing as we're running 12/12 from the start and i can just germinate more depending on how many males I get and they won't be that far behind.

I really recommend growing 100% organically, when you can afford to, grab bags of jamaican bat guano, peruvian seabird guano, mexican bat guano, liquid karma, maxicrop kelp extract, blackstrap molasses and some good earth worm castings + a air pump.

to learn how to correctly use it all, checkout the organics for beginners thread.v

hope some of this helps and goodluck man, you're gonna want to get them out of that potting soil and into some good shit soon.

oh, and btw I'm not gonna start bloom nutes until i see pistils.

hey oobnuker i also grow right into 12/12

best strategy from seed is to plant as many as containers will fit.

sea of green is the way you will get the most yeild out of this technique.

if you run 100% sativa genetics you can get away with bigger and fewer plants but they will also take longer before you can harvest.

so you start with a full grow room, then you cull the weak ones out before sexing. pop some more seeds to replace these, make sure all containers are marked with the date they were put into flowering chamber or you might lose track. then once sexing comes around, cull all males and pop more seeds to replace these. then once you harvest, pop more seeds to replaced the first bunch you harvested... etc... thats how i run my perpetual.

depending on the genetics you use and the height you want to get you might want to leave the plants to grow up, or LST / top them. for my area i have only 4 foot height so i have to top and train all sativa dominant plants. full indica plants might need some veg time to get to a nice size however.
