Do i have enough fan?

I'm currently building a 5x8 closet that i will partition off for veg/flowering. I pretty much walled off one side of an 8x10 room. I have a 400 cfm active air fan, carbon filter and a 600w hps air cooled hood. The 6" flexible tubing bends around to a 10 foot sheet metal duct extension and then outside. The outer room will have an AC unit in the window the cool air will pull through the passive intake in the new wall. Do i have enough fan for the Carbon filter, air cooled hood and the 10 foot run of ducting? Thanks for any suggestions!

I believe there is a fan calculator floating around here on ICMag that would answer your question. I saw the link recently but now I can't find it.

The real question is...do you have enough cowbell?

I guess i'll do a search for a cfm calculator? Does it compute with a carbon filter thrown into the mix?

Using a carbon filter reduces the airflow of your fan.Depending on size of filter it could be a great reductiong in airflow or a small one.

I compare all fans to Can Fan and their filters as they give you technical specs for both fans and filters and fan/filter combos.

A Can Fan 6"HO is rated 392cfm @ 0" static pressure.Paired with a Can 50 Filter the airflow would be reduced to 300cfm.If we look at the specs for the Can 6"HO we see it does about 300-301cfm @ 0.5" static pressure,so the Can Fan 6"HO paired with the Can 50 Filter results in 0.5" of static pressure added to the fan.
