Honestly, the 5000btu unit has reached it's peak in this space with the 3kw, so it will probably be getting replaced soon. No matter, it was a cheap Craigslist purchase and I love shopping for new toys. Gonna be looking at a 10,000btu or something similar. Maybe an A/C Dehuey combo.

It's amazing, this little A/C unit has kept the humidity below 55% while the tables are flooding. Not to mention there is a layer of hydroton below the pots so they'll drain properly, so there's excess water-holding medium constantly being hydrated and dried by HID light. Little guy's been a workhorse, but his time has come. :sasmokin:

BTW, did a bit of pollen-chucking today. Took some Blue Baloney f2 pollen and nailed Dumpster and a Honeybee females that were about 3 weeks in with it. Should be interesting to see the resulting crosses.

Blue Baloney smoke/grow report

Blue Baloney smoke/grow report

I love my keeper from these seeds. I have some more around here somewhere, but my girlfriend misplaced them. :bashhead::asskick:

Let's start with growth characteristics/expression.

Structurally, this pheno seemed to be a Blueberry leaning Sativa expression. Slightly stretchy, but with enormous, sticky buds that are remniscent of some of the more elite Sativas . Got some pretty sativa leaves on her, with a great leaf/calyx ratio, though what the leaves lack in thickness, they more than make up for in blade length.

Now, the taste...

What can I say? Blueberry syrup candy all the way. Smells just like it tastes, too. Upon testing the internodes at week 2 of flower with the ol' scratch n' sniff, I could call the Blueberry muffin scent from a mile off. My room mates thought I was embellishing about the scent, but soon noticed it as well.

The stone is up up up with a blueberry calm to it. Perfect Sativa buzz that can still sit you right down.

One of my favorites. The dude who gets rid of it for me said he gets the best feedback from this and my Honeybee.

DJ outcrosses FTW.

That's a nice setup Marquis, and your plants are beautiful.
Might have to keep an eye on this one.

OK, so we completely neglected the thread, as my laptop broke, but everything's harvested and a new run is on its way.

The widow ended up yielding an amazing 5-6 oz's dry. Amazing smoke and flavor! It was a very active "up" high that lasts for hours.

The 2 tables yielded approx. 20 oz's dry. Less than we were expecting, but we had problems near the end: No CO2, summer heat, a bad case of root rot from standing water, as well as a spider mite infestation. In addition about 25% of the plants were "filler" plants that had 1/2 the yield of Honeybee and Dumpster. All of these issues are being worked on in the next run. Live and learn, as they say.

Aquashield is an amazing product. Stopped root rot in its tracks. We saw new growth within days. Highly recommended.

Azamax annihilated spider mites on the flower plants. We are pretreating the vegging plants to prevent any reoccurence. Recommended as well!

The 3x4 footprint was more dense than necessary and we could have increased our yield by using the traditional 4x4.

We have 3 amazing Honeybee phenos that are all excellent in their own way. More details to come! I can say without a doubt that the Flo buzz is prevalent. Smoking Honeybee is as similar to tripping as a ganga buzz. Amazing genetics!

Live and learn, this next run will be a definite improvement! We currently have a good 20 clones rooting, 27 one gallon clones vegging and approx. 25 2 gallon plants in veg. The next run will be drip to waste on a 4x4 area. Much easier to upkeep.

Marquis posted a Vanilluna smoke report somewhere. Another very special plant. I'll get him on here to give you guys the link!

Until next update, stay safe and stay high!

Nice grow man. I had recently switched over to sealed and I love it!

One note, if you up grade to 10kbtu its going to run less so the humidity's going up and then you need a de humidifier, that puts out heat so the bigger gun actuallly runs more now.

I suggest, if its keeping your temps down, keep the 5k btu in there and keep back ups for when they conc out or need cleaning. Especially if its keepin your humid that low.

I took out my 10k and went down to 3 5k's to switch out. Craiglsist, cuz now its coolin down and people need cash. Costco has nice new ones at like $117.

my 2 cents

Marquis, super room, can I ask exactly how you vent your lights? I'm setting up a basement grow similar area, 5 x 11, 2k aircooled light, 18 ebb n gro, co2 gen, 5k btu air cond., dehumid, greenhouse controller, 8" duct, 8" inline elicent fan. I keep getting different viewpoints on how to do a light cooling exhaust setup. Can I bring in cold air from under an addition crawlspace (im in basement) then have a hepa filter, then lights, then inline fan, then odor filter? This would be all in a line. Do you use an intake fan or passive intake?

Hey fluffy, sorry for the delay, just saw your post. Hope you get this!

We were fortunate enough to have a large enough lung room that the growroom was built inside to need no exterior air. Our lights were simply set up as having a completely sealed room, with a fan PULLING (!MUCH more efficient!) the air through all hoods from a hole on one side of the room to another hole on the opposite side.

The outside air never touched the growroom air and vice versa. Because of this we did not need to carbon scrub this air. We did have a carbon scrubber, but it simply circulated the air inside of the growroom.

The intake was completely passive. We could have used a stronger fan but we were quite fortunate heat-buildup wise. The increase in temps we got from using a small fan on 3 lights was not too bad. You should be just fine!!

I would recommend you go cool air -> HEPA filter -> lights -> fan pulling -> outside or lung room.

So long as your hoods are sealed and your ducting skills are decent, you shouldn't need to worry about carbon scrubbing the hood-cooling air. Just run the carbon scrubber recirculating in your room. If you do have any leaks in your ducting they will still benefit from this because the room itself will not smell too bad.

Good idea on the HEPA filter by the way. We neglected to use one. When refurbishing out setup we recently had to clean the hoods and say just how disgusting the air in a basement is!! Definitely makes your hoods less efficient to have a lot of dust and crap on them.

Good luck!!! And more questions feel free to drop by!!
