even if you choose not to do lucas formula, read some his threads regarding plant nutrients. His general philosophy of how a plant requires a certain balance of nutrients for optimum growth really resinates with me. This goes against what a bunch of slickly marketed additives would have you believe, and they are often counter productive, and expensive.

I am on day 30 of flower into my first grow and I am using the Lucas Formula, and I couldn't be more pleased. My ph and ppms have been right on so far. And my plants look great. I think its a great way to start to get a handle on your system and a good understanding of your plants. I keep the calculator handy and the add back method is super simple. I agree reading the ask Lucas thread is a good idea it helped me alot. Good luck. :joint:

Lucas formula, IMHO, is the easiest way to start out in hydro. Check out cannastats for a whole ton of info.

Here's another vote for Lucas.

It's insanely easy and productive. If you are just starting off, there are many other things you need to worry about. Using lucas will simplify one area of learning.

Good luck!

Which one? There's billions of them. Well, 105 anyway.

Search lucas in Advanced Search by Titles Only.

That's a big 10-4 partner. It's good for me and I'm well past beginner status. Get the dry nutes called Maxi-Bloom and Maxi-Grow, mix 2 parts grow and 1 part bloom and you've got Lucas formula. I do zero farting around with nutes, and get great results.
