Lights on 10am to 10pm. That way possibility of light leaks at night are minimized, and I can have a difference between night and day temperatures. My last few grows I had lights on at night, but the way it worked out there was never any temperature change, and I feel it would be beneficial to have lower temps at night as opposed to a consistent temp.

constant temps help produce shorter plants, with denser nugs, although a cooler night is more realistic for most of the world.

i run 7pm-6am the sativas like the 13hour nights.

Do you have any links or info to back that up? I was under the impression a 10 degree difference between night and day would be better than a constant temp 24/7. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'd just like to see where you get your info.

Cozy Amnesia

My lights are on from 3PM to 3AM. This works well with my schedual so I don't miss a watering and keep them a little cooler during the hot hours of the day.

Just ordered my CMH and ballast and I will be doing 6pm to 6am. It will give a little time in the the morning to check on them and plenty of time in the evening for any work that needs to be done.

I run @ night also, 6:30 to 6:30. Better temps that way.

BTW...I replaced a 400W HPS with a 400W CMH setup in a small room (4" x 4" x 8"), Temps went down almost 5 degrees F:joint:

I work from home, so I follow the sunrise/sunset times, which is currently around 7:30 for both. I think plants can sense this, and I am looking for any edge.

I go with a night schedule. Cheaper and I use the heat to help keep my place warm. It can get real cold here at night. Might as well use the excess heat for something, ever little bit helps.

my lights go on at 2am and shut down at 2pm its real hot here and the hottest part of the day is around 3pm so it lights out ac off... if too many people are running ac and its super hot the whole section of the city shuts down .they call it a brown out so this schedule avoids that possibility too. my gardening is done early and i can get to the growstore if i need to. just finish up by 2pm and chill 4 the day

I run a flip flop, the bucket room is on at night from 8pm-8am, the CO2'd soil room from 8am-8pm.

9am to 9pm. My newest box hasn't been light proofed so this works best to prevent light leaks until I can pony up the costs for all the neccessary... Plus, the humming in the attic is less noticable and i can easily blame it on the central air;)

Minnesota Nice

sunrise @ 5pm, sunset @ 5am. i work early and like to make sure everything is running smooth before i leave. my only issue is when i'm working on my plants during the dark evenings in winter, my open closet door turns my apartment into a lighthouse beacon for the whole freakin neighborhood!

Reason: I want lights on when I'm around so I can tend the plants (handwatered in coco.) Once I get home from work I have all night to get it done. Lights go out around the time I go to bed.

You can flip as few or as many as you want. Make sure to get a heavy duty relay though, those little ice-cube relays burn out too easily.
