how to save an entire thread for viewing offline

hi guys im looking for a way to save an entire thread without going to file- save page as and then doing that for every page some threads are hundreds of pages. I dont have the internet at my house but i do have access to the internet at a relatives house and i want to save a bunch of good threads on my flash drive and bring them home to read them. Im sure there is a way to do this or a program for it i just dont know how. If someone else does please tell me.

its not the greatest solution but at the top of each post is thread tools. click on it then click on printable version.

then the entire thread is on 1 or 2 pages. it cuts out all the crap and is really basic but then you just copy paste it in to a word/notepad document.

and then you can view it any time u want

I have a piece of code that was written for a program called Wget that SHOULD download all the threads you've "Subscribed" to but I haven't gotten the time/resources to mess with it yet.

to canadian cracker - no its not for porn its for growing weed threads, if it was for porn threads i think i would post this question on a porn forum instead of a growing weed forum. Also not to be rude but i hate when i ask a question on a thread and someone makes a post just to say they dont know the answer, doesnt make any sense to me, if i didnt know the answer or have any useful info i just wouldnt post.

not the best way im sure but you can hit "print screen" then open up windows paint and copy.. you'll do it like 8 times per page but atleast you'll get all those nice bud shots

You said no internet. Do you have a computer at home? Save the page as a "web archive". Load it on your flash drive and use your browser at home.

yes i have a computer at home sorry i didnt specify that, also, how to i save as web archive? when i go to save page as my only options are save as web page complete, web page (html), text files, or all files. These options only save the first page.

"Web archive" may be a Mac term. I see it with the equivalent of "right click" (control-click on a Mac) under "Save As". I would imagine any saving would be one page at a time.

I'd try saving a page in every format you can and then viewing in the browser. Keep the version that shows the most but chews up the least real estate on your flash drive.

FWIW, this page takes up 2MB when saved as a web archive.

D'OH! This just in. Try File/Mail Contents Of This Page. Sends it straight to your Email. Works for Mac with Safari, anyway.

Ok, you guys are missing the point here..... He already knows how to save the page as an archive. What he wants is to save EVERY page of the thread without having to click on each one and then save it. Some of the threads around here have many many many pages.


My solution was to create an alternate account and then subscribe to only the threads you wanted for your archive. Then by using the harvester script with wget, it would download all the pages of the threads you'd subscribed to.

I just haven't gotten around to playing with it yet and don't have anywhere to store it right now. That's a lot of threads to tag. Come to think of it, I'd also like to take the time to build an 'ignore' list for that account as well since there's a nice sized chunk of troll dung posted here and there that doesn't belong in archives.

To my knowledge, there's now way to do what the OP wants. I've tried looking and haven't found any ways to do it. Maybe someone can tinker with Hydro-Soil's script/program.

What I know works, and what I've been doing, is just copying and pasting each page's link into a html > pdf converter (tons on the web - just google it) and saving each page. Then you can just compile all the pdfs into one big file if you want.
