A few years ago I stumbled across a couple of HID lights that a freind had sitting dormant in his shed and when I asked him what they were for he said that he wasn't sure but he had gotten them at a church garage sale and that I could have them. I knew dam good and well what they were for and I hit the jackpot as far as I was concerned. I took home a 400W and a 1000W MH and a 400W HPS.
Now I had never grown my own before but I had seen the equipment and knew a girl whose dad grew in his basement so I had an idea but really didn't know where to start. Thats when I I did what we do now and I hit the search engine and googled "How to grow Marijuana" and the adventure began. I have been through alot of ups and downs and I have learned alot about growing Cannabis and I have had a blast doing it. I still have alot to learn but I have grown some of the dankest nugg in the world right here in my basement and what is so cool is that anybody with an ounce of determination and a boxcar full of patience can grow sticky dank nugg that will make them the envey of all their freinds. ​

I have been lurking in the forums for a few weeks now and I have met some really cool kats so I decided to start a grow diary. I don't have time to do an individual diary for every grow I do so I decided to make a perpetual thread that will encompass everything that is going on in my garden. I guess I should start with a rundown of the strains I have going right now and where they are at in their stage of growth.​

Right am only running at about 1/2 of my capacity with only one of my two 4x4 flower rooms in operation. In 6 days I am going to Harvest 4 ElMonstre (jackberry x blue kronic).​

and to replace them in the flower room I have 6 Romulan ladies that are just dying to push out some little buds. These beauties were gifted to me by a freind in northern cali and I have been eager to see these ladies in all thier splendor.​

Right behind the Romulan I have just put 6 KO Kush cuttings in a small bubbler and they are going to be a new adventure for me because I am going to be useing the Lucas formula for my nute solution. ​

I also have a California Pure Kush cutting that was gifted to me that I have in soil and as soon as I can take cuttings from her I am going to flower a couple of them. I want to see if she lives up to her reputation as one of the finest connesure strains ever. She has a long flower time with a low yeild so she is not very popular with cash croppers but from what I hear the smoke is superb.​

I have some GodBud beans that I have been waiting to pop and I am not sure if I even will. I grew the GodBud for over a year and never was really overly impressed by it. I also prefer to aquire a proven cutting instead of going through the hassel of weeding out males, fighting off the hermies and choosing a female pheno. I would like to come across a good cut of Blue Buddha Cheese and some of this Grape God I hear so much about but that is in the hands of fate. ​

So I am off now to switch the Romulan ladies over to thier pre-bloom nute mixture. I will be sure to post updates as frequent as possible and feel free to give any pointers if you see me screwing anything up. Hell at 2.5 years of growing I still have alot to learn. ​

ive yet to be let down by any of "his" strains that ive tried. ko...killinfields...shack...recoveryhaze....all winners. i had threads up on all of them, but, i believe they were deleted.

whats the source on your romulan? i picked up one of the last packs of Federations Rom available here and not a single one popped. i knew they were old but i was hoping one, or two would see light....to no avail. im also interested in this "romulan max" thats available now.....have you any info on that one?

I didn't realize I was on such rocky grounds with my strain selection. The mother to these KO cuts finished out just fantastic at 7 weeks and deliver a power packed punch.

I was gifted the Romulan cuttings by a freind on another site. He hails in Northern Cali but I havn't asked him for any of the lineage on this particular cut. I think I will go ask him today and I will get back with the answer because I have been meaning to anyway.

The cut I am really exited about is this "Pure Kush". I have heard some really good things about it. I ran across a thread about it on a discussion board that got me pretty phyched up about it.

From what I understand it is one of the most popular straains among the rich and famous. I don't know about all that but the kat who sent me this cut says it's the bomb.

Well I've been downstairs takein are of the ladies this morning and I had a few adjustments to make in my KO Kush tub. The PH was at 5.4 last night but it was reading @ 6.2 this morning ​

so I adjusted it back down to 5.5​

I hope I don't have to chase the PH to much with this Lucas Formula, the ppm's are at 759 on a .5 conversion.​

Which seems to be quite high for newly rooted cuttings but we will see how they do. ​

That Floro-Nova sure did die their little roots brown. These should do just fine in this small bubbler unit for the next week. Then before the roots grow together I will put them into thier buckets.​

The Romulan Ladies are doing Quite well, I changed them over to a transitional nute mixture and their PH stayed at 5.8 and is holding steady. They are on the GH 3 part + florolicious plus, Diamond Nectar and Liquid KoolBloom. ​

I had some root problembs early on because I let their roots grow together before moveing them out of the little bubbler and when I switched them over I had to break some of the roots off. I was a bit freaked out by it because I knew there was a potential for root rot if there were ant dead roots in the buckets but I use a product called Hygrozyme that breaks down and converts old organic matter into a useable food source for the plants and I beleive it saved my ass in this case. http://www.hygrozyme.info/ 2 days after I put these girls into thier big tubs I noticed alot of slime all over the roots and I just new I was screwed but I let it ride and within 3 days my roots all looked really clean and healthy with no sighn of rot at all with the exeption of one plant.​

This little girl here has lost most of her roots but I am holding out hope for here to regrow enough to get her into flower with the others. She is makeing a valient effort and I am rooting for her.​

If not then I will pull her out and put her into a single unit until she gets strong enough to flower. ​

Here are a few more plants I have in veg the 4 in back are Romulan and the one in the bubler unit is KO Kush. The other up front is the PK. ​

They are all under a 400W HPS light that runs on a 3 foot light rail on an 18/6 schedule. Sometimes if I want to rush the growth I will turn it on 24 hrs for a week or two.​

The plants I have in soil are my mothers and my organic nugg extra special for me and mine only, if you get my drift. I am new to Hydroponics and am just finishing up my first complete run in DWC with my ElMonstre. Up until 3 months ago I grew only organic in soil.​

I had a small run in with the authorities last year that forced me and my helper to do an emergancy evacuation and my house was searched on the suspicion of illegal activites. I lost everything in my garden and I had to start from scratch. When it all was over they had no grounds for their search and even if they did they didn't find shit because they didn't have a warrent when they showed up the first time. I lost some really killer gear as a result, Chem-D and Bubba Kush (katsu cut) wich really sucks because my daughter has epilepsy and the Chem-D was the only smoke that helped her seizures. I also lost Herijuana, SweetGod, Jackberry and special Motorebel mixed Kush cuts. This is also why my grow is only at about 1/2 speed right now and my garden is in such dis array.​

A peice of advice, Don't drive your car to the hydro shop! Even if it's an hour away. I order everything online from them with a prepaid greendot card now.​

Here are some cuttings I am trying to get to revert back to veg I took them at 18 days into flower.​

Speaking of cuttings, here is a shot of my clone hutch. It is 5 ft by 3 ft and is luminated by four 4ft T-8 lamps with natural sunshine bulbs. They can actually veg in this hutch for quitesome time if I am pressed for space or rappid growth is not needed. ​

This is where I keep my mothers housed. I will be putting a Romulan, Pure Kush, KO Kush and El Monstre mother in shortly where they will live compfortably under the stairs encased in T-8 floros. ​

I have 2 flower rooms. Both are 4x6 and house a 1000W HPS with vented hoods. I run a 180 cfm squirrel cage fan vented out the main ventstack with my air intake comming off the main house and filtered. I also have an a/c vent blowing in to help keep it cool. It stays around 78 deg. F with a RH of around 55 to 60. ​

So now you have somewhat of an idea what I am working with. I hope you will drop in once in a while to check out whats going on in my garden. I am going to try to be in full swing by November. ​

I did find out that my Romulan cuts are from federation.

Yeah I took a pretty good punch but It's gonna be better than ever when it's back in full swing though.

Alright everybody it's time for a little news from the the Cave. ​

My Romulan ladies are stressin a bit from the root damage they encured from my neglegance to put them into their bigger buckets soon enough so I am leaving them under the 18/6 schedule for another week or more. Until they develop a strong root system. They are looking a bit rough but getting better and I expect them to make a full recovery soon. They are in the flower room so when the time is right I just have to flip the timer.​

On the other hand my KO Kush in the lucas formula are looking good and need to be moved to the big buckets before we have a root tangleing problem. Don't want to make the same mistake twice.​

The stalk is nice and fat next to a standard sized ink pen.​

But I do have one concern, the purple leaf stems. This is a good sign of a nute deficiancy so I checked the PH and it was @ 5.8 so I know I am good there and my ppm is at 875 wich is right where it should be so why am I showing a deficiancy? Lack of cal-mag? The Floro Nova is a 1 part nute complete with micros and is supose to have all that in it but I am useing RO water. I wonder if I should try adding 5ml of cal -mag. Or maybe up the ppm. I wish there was a way I could tell exactly what was missing from the nute mixture. I'm new to this hydro shit so somebody help me out please.​

On the bright side, My ElMonstre clones are showing the first signs that they are reverting back to veg state. The put off their first 5 bladed leaves over the last few days. I will get some
pix up of them soon.​

I think I am going to up pot the 4 Romulan that are in soil into 5 gal buckets and flower them along side the Hydro Romulan. I will take cuttings first though. I want to keep this pheno around for a while. Well I guess thats about it. ​
