Bubble cloner questions...

Yep my :2cents:

Get a container from walmart that suits your size needs, buy a couple pool noodles and a set of hole saws and go at it. The cool thing about using the hole saw is that it makes a hole right in the center of the puck for you. Then just cut a slit down one side with a pair of scissors and you're good to go. These pucks obviously just float on the water, no need to make a lid or anything to support them. Just make sure that you fill the entire surface of the water with your pucks or the excessive splashing from the bubblers will soak the leaves of your clones, making it easier for them to rot, I found.
I used straight RO for 4 days, added BioBizz root juice 1.5 mL/gal for the rest of the time. I used a heat mat set to the low end of "seed germination zone." I'll have to check the actual temps next time. I had root bumps on most at day 7, and I planted them in RW cubes on day 11. I took almost all of my cuts from the newer growth on my moms. The older growth, as FB mentioned, does take longer.
Good luck! I really like bubblers now, I have only used mine once, but I have friends using them now, lol. So easy, no medium to buy. And 11 days to plant! HOLY HELL

Bubble cloner questions...

- So I'm going to give a small, DIY, bubble cloner a shot. I hear people have algae problems, would this affect clones if I added this product to the water?

http://www.petco.com/product/105281/Tetra-Algae-Control.aspx

If it kills algae, a plant, I don't want it to affect the clones...

- should I dip the clones in root hormone for a minute, then wash off?
- should I add a drop of superthrive to the solution?
- PH the water to 6 - 6.5?

basically what works to speed up bubble cloning time, and success rate?

Use a dark tub, or one that's been painted or taped, and algae won't be a problem. Supposedly, tap water is all you need but, I've never been successful that way.

Here's my mini DWC bubbler. A one minute soak in Hormex (any liquid IBA, NAA solution will do) with Rockwool and gel. An aquarium heater maintains a water temp of 75º-80º. Solution is: 1/4 tsp each per gallon GH FloraMicro and FloraBloom in tap water pH adjusted to 5.8. Keeping cuts short and well trimmed allows me to clone dome and mist free in RH as low as 15%. If they want water, they know where it is.

just a tip don't add any hormex to the water or superthrive. I just had a batch of clones take 7 weeks to root but when I just dipped the cuts and put them in plain water I had roots in a week. this was with the exact same strains off the same moms

How the heck does post #1 quote post #5? Very odd.

I keep a gap of 1/2 -1 inch.
