Nice wheels. I ride road bikes only and enjoy the speeds at which i get around and most of the time i am faster than buses and cars as long as it is in a 10 mile radius.

Wear a helmet!!!!

no doubt man

I wear a helmet everytime I ride

and I always made fun of the idea, but cars burning by you at six inches is spooky.

Nice bike indeed enjoy , i need fatter tyres than you have as there are so many potholes round here , can get punctures real easy .
Cycling when stoned is the business , i love it .
My current road bike is a trecking cross / half mountain bike / half flat bar racer .

Gotta agree that pushbikes are the fastest way about in a city .

Got a used felt f25r with full campy chorus yesterday and I'm freakin stoked. I'll try to get some pics of it later so you guys can see the awesomeness. Any of you guys got advice on some comfy relatively cheap bicycle shorts?

whatever works for you. cheap maybe not, but I now have one pair of Pearl Izumi bib and two Capo Giro Bibs. I like the CapoGiro much better. more comfortable on my ass.

longest ride I have done now is 50 miles. rode yesterday it is so much fun

cool to see another cyclist here.
nice wheels too...looks fast.
treks are very well built...quality components from out of the box,so to speak.

i ride my trek 365 days...rain,sleet..or snow.

the above model is very good...really fast on the pavement and handles smooth to rough trails excellently.

well anyways, happy riding to ya.and watch out for cars..

nice bike arawn--my wife has a Cannondale with SRAM components

in the city that I live we have wonderful parks. many mountain bike trails, single track, wider trails--it is really amazing that you are in the city when you are there.

you are correct the bike is very fast. I know I have hit 40mph.......

hey thanks..
its my horse...lol.
ive only replaced the pedals on it.stock, bulky petals.
lost about a # when i replaced them.
and the saddle is kinda stiff at first...but after 6 months its fine...haw.

i enjoy cycling, and ive noticed more people doing it.
theres miles of FLAT forest preserve trails around.....
thats cool...but sometimes people get in my way on the trails..lol....and sometimes i crash..

i agree, armstrong is quite the athlete...he could clear a 6' bong no problem...

Nice one boys. I'm still riding my Giant OCR-1 from 2001. Compact road frame with an angled top tube, kinda shaped like a mtn bike frame. Triple ring, straight blade carbon fork, mavic ksyriums, shimano 105 group top to bottom. It was my only transportation for a couple of years living in the city (well, I also had a mtn bike, older mtn bike coverted to commuter style rig, and a WAY light single speed). Only thing I dislike about the Giant is that the very next model year they went to shaped seat stays and the year after added carbon tube inserts as the seat stays, which helps with road buzz from the alum frame.

Here's the Giant, only

just started riding a bike again this year. used to bmx in middle school and highschool. Now i' a junior in college and it is by far faster than driving to campus finding a spot then walking to class. I can just park my bike right in front of the buildings. if i didnt work 25 miles away where i have to use the interstate then i would bike there once i get better at biking

No joke it would take me 25+ minutes to drive to school and find a spot, on my bike i can easily get there in 15 mins. My bike doesnt need insurance or gas...

So last week I had a total blowout flat on my rear tire. I was flying at around 25 mph when boom....fishtailed really bad but did not crash.

Tire was totally cut, no way to salvage it. I was a good 15 miles away from home at the end of a 60 mile ride so I had to call my wife to come pick me up.

I got a new tire called Gator Skin it is made with Kevlar.

hope everyone is enjoying their rides.

I ride Gatorskins too. They can't be beat for durability. I've got a set with over 4000 miles on them. You might try the thorn resistant tubes too. They're very thick and heavy but you'll (probably) never have another flat. People make fun of me riding a 17 pound carbon fiber bike and using tubes that weigh a half pound each...
