Hey everyone, i'm a new member to icmag and to the medical marijuana community. I am working on my first small medical grow with some clones that I picked up from my local dispensary and some friends. Just decided to start up this thread to document the life of my plants.

My setup includes:
2 Small (4x3x7.5) homemade poly tents with zipper entry
2 4ft T5 Lamps + 2 2ft T5 lamps (total of 150w)
1 400W HTG Supply HPS Lamp
CO2 system running through veg and flower room(have not started using CO2 yet)
Mid size squirrel cage fan hooked up to carbon filter for ventilation in the flower room.
1 circulating fan per room
I just vent the veg room by opening the tent for most of the day and moving air with the circulating fan.
Plants are in 4 gallon pots with Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil
So far I have been giving them Fox Farms Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Botanicare Liquid Karma.

Here are some pictures of the ladies at about a month of veg. I'm getting ready to take clones off of the TW x Heri, and LA Conf. and put them into flower fairly soon. The first pic is LA Confidential, the second is Trainwreck X Herijuana (AK47 in the back, which i'm lst'ing/FIM'ing and not flowering this time around) and the third is Cherry Lime.

Let me know what you guys think, I am no expert so any criticism/comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Medichron

So what does everyone think, are these ladies ready to flower? They are all showing preflowers. I'm just wondering if it would benefit my yield to veg them for a bit longer, or should I just toss them into flower now? I'm not too short on time, but by the time these are done my clones are going to be huge, so I kind of want to start flowering soon. Also, Are these plants too big for supercropping? Would it benefit me at this point?

Thanks for any opinions,
Medichron

welcome! plants are looking good

i would say if you start some training and start flowering now you should have a good harvest because they will start growing much much more when flowering really gets going and it should make a nice full canopy

I love looking at healthy plants like that. Nice work for your 1st time around. Plants are ready for 12`s for sure. Don`t wait to long to flower them though. Like Shred420 stated..they will grow way more in flower. Soon as the plant realizes the days are getting shorter it will put on a last minute(super fast)growth spurt. They will get real big, real fast. I had a Serious Seeds Bubble gum grow over 3 feet in under 1 month. Talk about super stretch. They were not even showing pre flowers when I started flowering. Not saying your plants will stretch that much, some do and some don`t. Anyhow, Good luck to ya man! Keep It GreeN and welcome to Tha I.C!

I perfer to do most of my topping, supercropping and bending straight from the start. Supercropping however would be a good techniche because if you supercrop the top then the sides will try to catch up and you could end up with a couple of colas.

As far as starting them to flower it all depends on you. If pre-flowers are showing then you are good to go. By looking at your tent it looks like you may not have all the room in the world, so flowering now might be a good idea. However, I wouldn't expect much from each plant, maybe an ounce or two if done right from each. If you veg for another little bit then your yield would increase. Hope this helps, happy farming.

i really doubt that it would be only 1 to 2 oz a plant it all depends on your gentics i have some northern lights under a 150 hps with some cfl and i get 1 to 2 oz plant

you can expect a good pull with all that light you got there and that co2 will absolutely help your yield

best of luck keeps us updated

Thanks for all the responses! Today I supercropped the top and 2 side branches on the Cherry lime, and i am about to take clones. I plan to start flowering in about a week! I'll put up some more pictures after I take clones.

Thanks,

LA Con isn't a great yielder but the smoke is top notch. IMHO She needs alot of early LST to bring the best out of her.

Great medicinal smoke, spicy flavor, hardly any stretch in bloom.
Smoking a joint of LA is like smoking a stick of opium.:smoke:

I'm sure you'll like it. Enjoy.

Gen freak is right when is comes to training plants the earlyer the better. i took a ord Dj short Blueberry from 1 single cola to over 20 just by training it young.. but they look great and remember take ur time and do things right the first time not 2-3 times like myself due to being in a hurry. and a good rule of thumb dont expect a huge yeild right off the bat. it will only lead to a disapointing harvest. think small and be supprized if u do better then u hoped for. GL and welcome to ICmag

It's decided, flowering is starting tomorrow! What does everyone think, should I throw them in the flower room as is, or should I prune off some more of the bottom branches/ lower nodes on branches??

Hey everybody, just got the plants in the flower room today! I snapped a few pictures with the plants under the hps. One problem I am having is that my fan/carbon filter causes the room to have negative pressure which pulls the walls of my tent inwards, giving me less space. To try and correct for this I installed 2 extra 6" ducts going through the tent walls (in a u-shape to prevent much light from entering) to allow more air to flow into the tent. If anyone else has any ideas let me know.

Peace,
Medichron

TW X Herijuana is back right, Cherry Lime is back left, and the LA Confidential is up front.
