How are things going? I imagine your tubs are close to being fully colonized by now. Fruiting should be just around the corner...

I took a peek yesterday. They look about the same as the latest pic with slightly more colonization. But, it's not full. I see no pins, but I was holding my breath and didn't want to have the lid off too long. The PE is behind the B+ too, so the PE will have to wait a while.

Great Job so far Abbiedoobie!! Can't wait to see what you get for your efforts.. It just may inspire me to pick up a syringe and give it a try for myself :)

I honestly had no idea it was easy/legal to get the spores, until I started looking into them recently. I did'nt even know icmag had a friggen mushroom section till I searched google LOL..

Great advice so far 79towncar, hopefully when the time comes for me, I can run some stuff by you before starting... It's been like 10 years since I last came across shrooms for sale around here, and that time I actually barfed up half my trip just as it was starting to get interesting:( So yeah, I'd like to try again soon... Hopefully I'll be able to find a cheaper or used pressuer cooker, as the pre-sterilized jars, and substrates a few places sell are way over priced for what it is...

Day 18

Day 18

OK. This is getting ridiculous. This is the B+ tub at Day 8:

And this is the tub at Day 18 (today):

Anyone see any difference? I sure don't. Not sure what to do if my tub won't fully colonize.

Edit: Actually now that I look at them...the tub looks WORSE today than it did 10 days ago.

Hmm I'm stumped.. Is there any yellow/red/brown colored liquid on the surface of the tub?? Also you can try taping over the holes... I'm thinking there is too much air getting into the bin and its causing the mycellium to stop growing... You need high CO2 levels for colonization...

I am also stumped, it could be a contam maybe that you cant see. How is the humdity temp and FAE? If it is still clonizing you need more c02 build up and less FAE and the opposite when you fruit. Good luck man you are sooo close!

Any updates?? What's going on with this?? Also is there any type of yellow/orange liquids on the surface?? Most likely you have a bacterial contamination..

How is the mositure level in your substrate? It should be nice and squishy when touched. Also have you introduced fruiting yet? How did you deal with the lighting?

Sorry to hear your tubs aren't doing so well, especially after they started out so good.
I'm assuming that they never fruited?

Harvest!!!

Harvest!!!

Finally, it has happened!!! :woohoo:

After posting the monotub pics, I just fell into a pit of denial, anger, depression, and now acceptance. Today is the first day I have visited this thread since posting my last pics.

I actually said "fuck it" and dumped the whole thing behind my shed, cased it with peat/verm/oyster shell, watered it constantly, and kept it covered with a clear lid.

Today, I was going to clean the whole mess up and throw it out because I wasn't seeing any growth on top.

Lo and behold...after chucking into a tub, I looked through it and found little mushies!!!

So, I picked through the whole thing, rinsed them, and they are now drying on the lowest setting of my dehydrator.

The remaining stuff is all crumbled up and cased/watered/covered again.

I heard B+ rocked pretty hard in the growth department, not bad.

Penis Envy and the Thai Cyans are toast.

yippie! You know those sorta look like the mushies that grow on the horse poop around here in the fields.

Glad to hear that you got a harvest! Sweet! Congrats!

I'm glad you got something for your hard work, Abbie. Are you going to inoculate any more jars in the near future?
I hope you have a good trip, and post a trip report when u get a chance...:joint:

Thanks for stopping by Baba. Here they are after drying for a couple hours:

I don't have a scale, but it doesn't matter. I've taken what looks to be this amount in the past and had great trips.

I'll definitely let you all know how it goes.

I think I'll eat 'em around 6pm (central) and start trippin' around 7pm hopefully lasting a few hours, then bed. We'll see. I might be up all night, lol.

Baba...I'm contemplating deploying the last two of my syringes...Costa Rica and Honduras...

I've also been spying the organic rye berries at the co-op.

Wheels are turning in my head...lol...

I'm going to wait, however, until my enviro is stablized out in the shed this fall/winter and then do things there.
