just wondering if anyone has ever tried the flourecent growlamp in red spectrum for flowering,im using an ultra blue spec at the moment to veg my cuts and im pretty impressed, just tossing up between sticking to my 400hps to flower or give one of these red flouros a try... im using a cupbourd setup and dimensions are 1x.5x1.75mtr its not a massive space and iv lined with mylar so im not wasting any light. i like the flouro because they dont get anywhere near as hot as hps or use as much power, and i quite parranoid about my cupbourd catchin fire while im out. all imput would be appreciated,im realy only wanting some bud to smoke and maybe pollinate a couple of branches for outdoor seed stock, not to concerned bout yield.:joint:

fluro are good for vege and flowering but using a hps will give you a higher yield .....

I got a growlush 100w 6400k cfl and look at what they sell now -->

yeah thats the one im thinking of buying too, like i said i am using the ultra blue veg one at the moment and im very pleased with simplicity and results im getting from it,im also running mine 18 and iv just got a 30cm fan moving the air around and temps are always betwee 24-28degc so im thinking the flower one should be good for hobby grow ang breeding a bit of seed

I used a bunch of smaller bulbs, you get better light distribution from multiple light sources and they're easier/cheaper to find. (clue: Bunnings)

Also, this way you can use many different kelvin bulbs. I used mostly warm whites and swapped around some daylights, some naturals, some cool whites, you get the picture. Even a purple aquarium light got used.

If you want better fluoro results, get pll's (often called 2g11 or 4-pin, very confusing), available at hydro stores and aquariums. These are a zillion times better than any CFL, ever.

Howdy. I have a similar set-up. I was using a single 400w HPS but now have added a 125 w flower CFL to improve yields. The 2 shades fit nicely in the cab & I rotate the plants daily from 1 end to the other. (only 3 plants for flowering in cab, the other 2 were only in there for a couple of extra day's vegging). High temps. are not a problem if there is adequate ventilation for the cab & the ambient temperature of the room that it is in should be kept stable too, if possible.

good luck m8 & let us know how you go.

Sorry for the late reply man. I use a passive air system, hence the holes in floor. Eventually I will upgrade it to an active system with sealed floor & filtered intake air. Lights & recirculating fan are hung from hanging rod in cab, yeast beast Co2 bucket hung from a hook. I'm using 300mm 24L square pots for the first time, usually use normal 12" 300mm round pots. The square pots have obviously bigger capacity & are a bit taller, therefore I have been training & supercropping like a madman to keep the canopy level between 3 different strains.

I have found some square shades are not long enough for big CFL's so just check the length.
BENJI has just finished fixing up a cab similar to this, maybe he can chime in with some pics. He found a groovy bathroom exhaust fan with ducting attachments that is just awesome for cabs. Hope this helps man, let me know if you want any more info. :joint:

40day old super skunk under a growlush 100w 6400k cfl , 2x 24w 2700k cfl

the 100w globe is vertical fitted into a piece of project wood board and the 2 smaller globes are in reflectors aimed at plants horizontally.

I was looking at the purple globe but I'm going to stick with what I got until that globe wears out then I may purchase one.

I just started flowering cycle so check back in a month... -->
