Question about THC oil

I saw a tutorial on how to make THC oil a while back. I just don't remember where... but i do remember what it said and i was wondering if this would work,

Take at least an Ounce of any type of bud you would like and get a large bottle of alcohol with at least like 80%.

And basically put either all or most of the bud into the alcohol. either in the actual bottle of alcohol or a mason jar.
Leave it in the bottle for at least a week or two in a closet.
then strain the weed out of the alcohol and pour alcohol into a sauce pan.

Then proceed to slowly cook off the alcohol in the sauce pan. until it is a think oil consistancy...

I wrote this from memory just how I remember the directions.

But for some reason I don't think that would work? Thanks hah

If you want chlorophyll and a bunch of other shit in the oil along with THC, yeah, it'll work.

A quick wash is better.

Take a mason jar and put your goods in it and then pour enough 99% ISO alcohol to cover and a bit more. Then shake it for about a minute or less and then strain it through an old clean tee shirt. Squeeze out what ya can. I use a 130 mesh silk screen myself.

I just fan dry my stuff but you could heat it if you like.

You can use ethanol as the solvent, no problem at all, but you are exposing the weed for way too long. A minute or two will do the trick, then strain the weed and start cooking off the alcohol.

You'll end up with clean honey oil that tastes remarkably different to BHO.

if u use the right butangas, the taste will be super!!!
i find it very easy...just put the weed in the honyBeen(also very easy to build ur own) send the gas through it....boil the gas away...done in 10 min!!!
i find it very easy and quick!!

nope not true, i will quote a section of my tutorial for you:

"In one quick blurb here is the whole shebang; you take a tube of glass or stainless, preferably, stuff it full of weed and run clean butane through with a filter on the exit end to keep the weed in, into a glass collection dish and evaporate it sitting in a dish of hot water, and then you have a film of oil on the glass you purge the butane out of and scrape up with a razor blade, and you are done. The particular method I use for purging gives me a whole extraction time of about half an hour, although there are other methods and beliefs…."

I did the alcohol thing a few days ago and all I have to show for two OZ's of good bloom leaf and tiny buds is a mas of very dark green goo...It is the last time for me. I will use the method described above where you pour it thru cloth small enough to get rid of most of the crap...I think I will take the goo and start over and dissolve it again. No use losing it all.

best effective method for intaking oil is via a hotknife setup, but filtered thru a small water chamber. a second method that is ok in a pinch is using a pipe full of the ashes from the last bowl smoked. you can put a drop of oil on the ashes, and it will light up very well and burn for you. if you just put oil on weed in a bowl it has very strong tendencies to run through and not get consumed, or also just flame off the top.

cook with the green goo, or...

redissolve in ISO (hot iso works great), put in a ziploc, add 1/4 cup VM&P naptha from ace hardware, shake, let separate (5-10), naptha will the top layer, cut a small hole in the bottom corner, let the iso drain out, then move over your evaporating container let the naptha evaporate. you will be left with an amber resin that is comparable to a butane extraction.

so many people wanna soak there bud in iso for long ass amounts of time i have no idea why??? the name is Quick Wash Iso Hash
i use 99.9% iso
make sure all ur iso and plant material are very cold before and during the wash for maximum trich removal in short shakes to avoid chlorophyll, a nasty taste an oily product

30 -40 seconds is plenty then strain threw metal strainer then the coffee filter into a mason jar
(dont squeez the coffee filters when straining and try to get the unbleached coffee filters)

once strained into the mason jars i heat off the alcohol in flat prex dish over a pot of boiling water OUTSIDE!!!

an when it looks all boiled off let it sit for about another hour on table just in plan jane room temp

ur product should be glassy amber shards that at room temp are hard.mine smokes great fullly bubbles and melts an taste pretty good ...dry sieve tastes the best tho imo
~any very black runny oily product is the result of alot of stuff that doesnt get u high~
