Honestly, the first impression I get of dreads is "dang, they have got to be dirty". Of course I know this doesn't have top be the case, it's just a knee-jerk reaction to the appearance.
No disrespect intended.
I used to grow mine out in High school and my 20's. I just got so sick of it. Even washed it looked oily by the end of the day, just got to be a pita. I haven't had long hair in probably15 years now. I do like crazy hairstyles though lol.
im growing out my hair, not dreading, put it in a pony and behind the ears, nothing too long, not past my shoulders, but i like it long. used to be past my shoulders in high school for a bit, always grow it out then shave it, constant cycle, but i think ill just cut it when it gets too long, growing it out from shaved is too damn long.
who ever created the archetype that men have short hair and woman have long? fuck that person. its probably not a person or even a simple answer, whole group or society of social norms that have been created for people to conform too.

i dont understand the comment that dreads represent something... what do they represent, unless your a rasta i suppose, but it seems everyone i know with dreads is not a rasta, just smokes weed. something as simple as hair does not need to represent someone, were not walking billboards, were human beings with free will, and hair is a rediculous thing to define a person or size a person up.

I've had long hair for quite some time...shaved it all off tho.
Pretty hard to do business if you look like a hippie. Maybe if one day you are established you can afford the luxury of being eccentric. Although it's all pointless. Hair represents shit! Growing your hair long doesn't really require much effort does it ?
And for the record. Making money has never been so important..it is absolutley VITAL! It's going to be a hell of a ride..best be prepared. Ofcourse im using the term ''money'' loosely..be it land gold or what have you. Time to get your shit together. Leech this fucker dry and start over...
