Patrick Swayze died

I know, cancer, wtf, nothing funny about that.

But hear me out.


The exact week Swayze announced he had pancreatic cancer, my dad also found out he had pancreatic cancer.

He told my step mom not to tell anyone yet because he didn't want the whole neighborhood and everyone else pitying him.

So for 5 days, my step-mom was avoiding going to lunch with one of her co-workers, who was also their next door neighbor, because she knew she wouldn't be able to hold herself together and not share the news.

Finally, she agreed to have lunch with the neighbor/co-worker. Wouldn't you know, she goes and says, "OMG, did you hear about Patrick Swayze??? He has pancreatic cancer!! That's like the one of the worst cancers you can have!! Everyone that gets pancreatic cancer dies!!"

My step-mom is sitting there, listening to this, and her eyes well up with tears and she starts crying.

The neighbor says, "OMG, I'm sorry...I didn't know you were such a big Dirty Dancing Fan."


No lie.


My dad passed away just a couple weeks ago. Pretty weird.

Red Dawn. What was his first? I didn't realize he was 57. That would make him 18 in 1970. He really looked young for his age until he got sick. In fact, he didn't look bad after he got sick unless compared with his former self. Oh well, just my thoughts. Rest in peace.
