President Obama, it's very simple.

A

Aerokush101

Add medical marijuana to the health bill and it will pass.

Don't add it and the bill will fail.

It's very simple. Just do it.

Are we still talking about this?

This is a place in time where our community could make the difference.

Obama isn't going to get this medical bill passed. Not the way it is and perhaps not at all.

If he added mmj, there's a real chance to win it. Not that I'm in favor of the health care bill idea .. but I'm in favor of nationwide mmj.

He needs us.

You really think so?

I understand the pro-marijuana movement, but WTF? Get out of your own little world for a minute people. Cause some of us just eat, sleep, sh*t,and dream about marijuana, and the rest of us just recognize that it's just a fruit that is being prohibited, learn to enjoy it outside of the law, and carry on.

Don't raise hell over dead issues...

Yeah, there was a pretty long detour back there, lol.

danut, I know you're not in favor of (public option?) but I'm all for nationwide. Just the stress relief of growing without having to hide would do my health some good.

I won't give up while there is still one single breath left.

This will get done .. somehow someday.

They declared war on me. I have to defend myself against overwhelming force. The political solution seems the best route.

The only way to get mj illegitimacy is through your own state .If ppl in gathered themselves in their own state and make this matter notice and ppl start being away of the benefit it can have not only in the economy but the healthcare of ppl, then making it illage like CA,CO,NY Canada, lol then there would be a big enough attention for you F@cking poles..:2cents::joint:

I get where you're coming from Aerokush, as I feel it's pretty close to where I started. I realize it's a dream for some but many have been in the trenches a long time to get what we have today. Decriminalization, some recognition of medical benefit as well legal status, if only state-level in one state.

I've heard others laugh at stoners wanting change but can't get away from the bong long enough to participate. When ya think about it, who better to advocate for the recreational/medical use of mj? If we don't make our voices heard, others may affect change in ways we don't want.

Personally, I'd like to be able to grow my own legally, as opposed to regulation dictating I buy it from the market. I can distill my own moonshine as long as I don't sell it and don't go over the limit. The limit, by the way is much more than I can handle by myself. If mj legislation followed this route, I'd be all for it. Personal consumption regulations are easy to exploit, lol.

danut, I wasn't aware you were doing battle with the law? I wish you all the best.

sito007, not sure what illage means, (is that like sick?) but I get it you don't like polls. Polls are a funny thing, they don't always reflect the way you may feel about an issue. Sometimes they're created to skew the info to one side or the other. They don't always stuff yer mattress but they make a nice fluff up top.

We won in Michigan. Federal is what's left here.

And if federal moves off the status quo the whole country goes mmj.

I just got the finalized forms for my paycheck for being arrested for gathering petition signatures here.

They didn't like what we were doing. Most of us ran into resistance. Some were threatened by police. I went to jail for it.

You know what the biggest problem is here? It is that you feel you can throw around any sort of charges at folks that do not agree with your stance. And you also feel that nothing can be thrown at your positions.
You have already admitted that once you know a persons political leaning, it shapes your opinion from then on of them. What a narrow minded fuck you must be. And obviously miserable to boot.

... could actually be offending some folks?

Here hossier goes again, confusing "himself" with "not himself". but thats ok cuz were not equal to him, and should not be compared on the same standards ;-)

god, the hypocrisy in your posts is too much for me not to do that. You call someone a narrow minded fuck and in the next sentence accuse them of being offensive? Go play in the middle of a busy intersection you waste of skin ( hows that for offensive? ). If I am wrong and you are being peaceful then you should not take offense to this post ( which you will )

Damn danut, how did you get yourself arrested for conducting a legal and constitutionally-protected action ? I gathered signatures and did much work on the Internet as well as an interview for the Macomb Daily. I never once encountered a problem.
Hope all is well now !

Dude cops can just say you're impeding an investigation by asking them how they are doing, the cases get dropped but you still sit in jail overnight / over the weekend and get your name & photo up on the Sheriff's website along with false claims of resisting and whatever the cop decided to put down on the paper!

Working at it.

Still got the fed to get out of the way.

These folks thought it was OK to turn off all political conversation for one week every year.

And some folks think it's wrong to say the word marijuana in public. One of those picked up the phone, called the police chief and said something like "if you want to keep your job .."

You know how it goes.

Did anybody get a chance to see highlights of the compromise Senate bill? It's a real bs bill. Max Baucus declared it was a compromise bill and he still didn't get a single vote of support from the other side. I don't support it either.

The Dems need to leave Republicans behind on this deal. 51 votes will pass health care reform w/o the filibuster if they do it the same way Bush rammed tax cuts through.

Nothing real is going to take place with health care reform until insurance companies start paying for medical marijuana.

Civil disobedience will not be tolerated. Buy insurance or go to prison. Please show me the constitutional precedence for this.

"Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]"

its funny, health care isnt regulated and goes to complete shit. We need regulation, its the fucking reason health care costs have risen 400% recently and will utterly fail in the next 10 years if the government doesnt step in.

You guys talk about capitalism as if its perfect, its fucking eating this country alive, my proof?

Look around,for fucks sake.

Im not a Dem, and im not for an entirely free public option, but these fucking insurance companies are a fucking joke.

Just got a bill from the hospital for 3 grand, apparently im not able to judge what constitutes an emergency. Fuck Blue cross, pay them and they deny your fucking claims, but hey let capitalism run this country into the ground, no regulation, no country.

THe government, and the current administration, are running us into the ground now. They have no intention of helping to improve the US health care system..which BTW is hands down the best health care system on the globe.
There is no health care crisis. It does not exist. There are high prices, and those need to be addressed. But nothing the democrat health care bills are offering even come close to attempting to fix or help the real issues.

2fastfu, you have a view that many seen to take, but it is obviously formed by listening to the left wing pundits and leaders, and perhaps the MSM, but it is not one of clear thinking. A clear thinking person, who actually understands the terms here like "capitalism" and "regulation", knows better than the simply rhetoric you are throwing out.
Perhaps you can tell us why the rates of these insurance co's have risen so dramatically in the past few years? I highly doubt it. But you can sure get your bitch on, yeah?

Nice to see this thread back up on the front page.

I was just listening to CNN ..

Who would have thought that pro life democrats would have mucked this up.

Thousands of pages .. amendment after amendment ..

No one seems to know exactly what is in these proposed laws ..

New ways for the government to put people in jail?????????????
Do we really need that?

If the existing insurance companies were to realize how many billions of dollars could be saved for their shareholders, they would be screaming for legal mmj.

Would medical marijuana included into the bill be a unifier? I think it would.

But I expect the government to do the stupid thing and let it slide again. Which is great, as far as I'm concerned.

I can't even begin to dream how much pork is in that paper.
