What's new

MillerPride Wannabe Cabi

Welcome to my first official IC grow. While I'm not new to growing in general but for me there is always a first, can only get so many grows in a year. The idea is based off the mill's pride design however since home depot no longer carries them anymore this is the one they replaced it with. The dimensions are 68" 5/8H X 28" 1/2W X 20"D with a 1/2 piece of plywood painted flat white to help make the cabi sturdy. I have a 400 watt Mh/Hps Sun System 10 magnetic ballast with a batwing reflector, the ballast sits on top of the cabi next to the charcoal filter as soon as i can scrap up the money to get it. I have a 6" 440cfm canfan on a motor speed controller pushing into the filter which helps keep my temp in my opinion reasonable 82 lights on and 70 with the lights off.The weather sealer and kitchen caulk help made sure I'm light tight while the tot-locks keep the doors closed. As for the plants I have two clones and two seedlings, I've heard multiple things on what they might be Chrystal or Juicy Fruit still I don't know. Each is in their own 3 gal container could be 2 gal not for sure on actual size but are filled be miracle grow moisture control, during the summer the plan is to grow in soil and in the winter go with hydro. As for nutrients I have the Flora Nova Veg&Bloom that I use for hydro and I got this iguana juice Veg 3-1-3 /Bloom 4-3-6 from a friend not sure which to try.Personally my favorite way to grow is dwc buckets but it gets to hot here in the summer, i don't enjoy doing the frozen bottle dance. Once these ladies get going i plan to top them and put in a screen so i can scrog them. All in all i'm just trying to break in this cabi and any input from all who stumble across my grow is welcomed. Sorry for the crappy pics a new camera is also on the never ending list of things to get.
Take it easy everyone,
Possumtail

Looks as if the transplant shock is starting to wear off, little has changed but several new branches are starting to show up on the clones. The seedling are slowly doing their thing. Overall things are starting to pick up the next few updates should be exciting.

looking awesome. Wish I would have seen the darkroom louver years ago. That would have saved me so much time and hassle.

chiefsmokingbud: I'm glad I went with the darkroom louver it makes the box look clean and its easy to add/remove a filter from it. The original plan was to use pvc 90's but they took up to much room.

blackmajik: I had the ladies long before I had the cabinet up and running. With a combination of me having to leave town for a couple days and them having a make shift veg box I defiantly didn't give them the best of childhoods. They seem to be happy now I'm just anxious for them to fill in the screen so I can flip the lights.

Thanks guys for stopping by glad your enjoying the show thus far. Take it easy everyone

My setup was a stealth bookshelf

when opened revealed the grow chamber

I had to do the PVC inlets and boy was it a pain in the ass

A louver would have been so much easier. This setup is long gone though

Hey chief the stealth bookcase has been something I've wanted to do for a long time its a great idea. My cabinet is in a place where nobody goes but it's not 100% stealth so will spark more interest than a bookcase IMO. Thanks for sharing to bad it's no longer with you hopefully one of these days I can get one up and running.

Week 6 is here the only real update is I made Benny and Tanny switch places
to better fill in the screen. I hope in the next 2 weeks I'll be ready to flip to 12/12 but who knows just have to let these ladies do there thing.

Hey #1cheesebuds thanks for stopping by. It took the ladies a while to get used to the cabi but now they should start showing off for you guys.

Its week 7 now nothing new to report. The ladies are still chugging along these ladies only have about a 2x stretch so I'm trying fill the screen 50% of screen before the flip. Well let see how this week goes take care everybody:joint:

:wallbash: so I had to flip to 12/12 today because these ladies are taking a bit to long to fill up the screen. Now I'm a bit behind schedule after this grow I was hoping to get a couple dwc grows over winter now I'm going to be cutting it close. I switched out the MH for a HPS and lowered the screen about 2" nothing to do now but wait. 70 days and counting :joint:

Mark my word, once they start stretching they'll fill up that screen in one to two weeks. I always did most of my screen work after the flip instead of before.
