Let's Set and Accomplish Some Goals Together

Anyone else got some goals that they've been sitting on, procrastinating? I'm looking to make some positive changes in my life and I'm looking for some support in my changes and am offering my support to those of you looking to make a change. Share some goals and lets hear about how well you're following through. Here's what I've got going on:

-I started smoking cigarettes again regularly a couple months ago, it's time to quit this crap.

-I herniated a disk in my back training with my volunteer job and against my doctors advice, I put on like 15 pounds. I've been way less active since many of my old favorite activities cause me pain now. Time to take off the 15 and work to get my back in good usable shape again.

-I'm in college and I'm probably about 150 pages behind in my various readings. Gotta get caught up on the books.

Here are my goals:

-Get caught up on my readings completely by the end of next week.

-Lose weight by eating healthy, home-cooked meals the majority of the week and work out, either weight lifting or cardio for 4 hours or more per week. Also, my dog has suffered due to my back, he'll be getting back in shape along with me.

-Stop smoking cigarettes immediately. I am no long "in control" of my smoking habit.

-Find out more information on my back and getting it working again.

Hope I find some other people looking to make changes as well. I also hope to keep this ongoing, as goals become accomplished I'll look to add more. It's time to stop procrastinating, START NOW!!! WHATEVER YOUR GOAL TELL US ABOUT IT AND LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!:woohoo:

I'll keep everyone posted.

EDIT (this is posted a few posts down, but for those of you not reading the whole thread...)

Alright, I'm seeing a trend in here and I hope I can take this thread a different way.

-What are some goals you're looking to start working towards TODAY?
-What is the purpose of your goal, why is it important to you to accomplish this?
-What kind of plan do you have for getting there, what can you do today/this week/this month to help get you closer to this goal?

Getting started today can be as easy as formulating some type of plan and posting it, let's hear it!

Hey Bacchus, thanks for being first man in, those sound like some great goals. I'm curious (and think it would be good for you) what you plan to do this day/week/month to get closer to your goals? Can't wait to hear how things are coming along for you either, best wishes Bacchus!

Hmm, my goals are in order:

Grow at least 4 12# harvests a year
quit my lame-ass job
Buy a house, or at least land to grow on
Move my family onto the property, start a family compound
Have kids
Grow more
Retire, sell the whole thing eventually and buy a house on a warm beach somewhere
Drink rum and smoke herb all day every day
Sit around in my underwear counting money

God damn lazyman, very nice. And good luck... I think that given a year, my goals will be very similar to yours. They are currently less lofty and aiming in that direction.

- Read every banned book within a year, because they must be good if they're banned (I'm reading the Satanic Verses right now, and it's a good book, I highly suggest it)
- Build the muscle groups supporting my joints that are currently not in such good shape so that they'll be less stressed. (work on it whenever I can, which is not often)
- Build my savings to $65,000 over this 12 month period so that I can start my business (sorry no details, but I'm working on the money thing all the time. It's looking good.)
- Replace all of the things of other people's that I have broken in the last little while (mostly my girlfriend, lol, I hate to have imposed these things on people, but I don't have the $$ right now, and these things are first priority before toys for me)

I'll leave it there for right now.

Lazy, no need to apologize. I guess I'm just hoping that you transform those goals into smaller pieces and post up some of the first pieces you need to accomplish to reach your ultimate goal. Then let's get at those small goals right away.

Hey, good goals everyone! Can't wait to hear about all the progress that's going to be made in all our lives towards reaching our goals, think of the others that we might inspire as well. I know I sound cheesy, but I'm ready to make lots of changes and really work towards my success in the things I want. It feels good to get some support.

-Still haven't smoked cigarettes today.
-Went to the grocery store and I have a nice healthy meal picked out for dinner, plus I got breakfast figured out.
-Ran for 30 minutes with the dog. Plan on doing a brisk walk or something else with him tonight also.
-Read about 3 pages of my school stuff, my head was going too many places to stay focused so I'm going to read some later on. My goal is 20 pages a day 'till I'm caught up.

I've also been wanting to get my grow room really organized. I'm going to go do that now.
