BudGood's Med Grow: A tale of two rooms

People around here are running Krusty buckets? I haven't been able to find a successful krusty bucket grow log or even any pictures for a while. I was really interested in running the system but am hesitant without some more up to date success reports.

Think PP69 might have some pictures or even just a written description of what he's doing and how well it's working?

It's on another site man, a private one, pp69 sponsored me for membership. I'll PM you the details...

Very nice setup and I, like some many others it seems, really like your DWC plant support system. I have used PVC for support racks before, but nothing like that. I have actually been trying to come up with something like that for my Ebb&Gro buckets. I may have to look into designing something like what you have. Thanks for the design ideas!

You (I) always kick yourself hard than you need to when you've done something that F's something up in your grow. Atleast your system didn't flood. I had some tomatos growing in a bubbler early this year/ late last year, got sick for a day or two and they drunk the whole tub dry in like two days.

Oh, you got any new pictures yet?

Hey no biggie BG, wouldn't be any fun if you didn't have a few un-expected hurdles. Maybe it was your subconscious just trying to keep you on your toes.

I'd like to see some pics of the progress, too.

Lookin' good, Bud - obviously not your first rodeo!

Hey thanks! Feel free to bite my idea, impression is the sincerest form of flattery! :)

Yeah, it really pissed me off, especially since it was my fault, kicked myself for a while over that one. I ended up putting a clone in it's place, 2 weeks in. I'm going to let this go to day 60-65, so that clone will be at day 46-51, which will be fine, thats the usual for this cut of AK anyhow, I just like to let it go longer for a more medicinal high. So it should all work out. And yes, got some more pics today, albeit of the 3rd of this month, but pics nonetheless! :yeahthats

LOL, I'm finding that things are running differently this time, had to make some more adjustments already, like adding a intake fan (stanley blower modded), and a cool-mist humidifier, which really helped, it was getting too dry in there. I hope that this harvest comes off without anymore little "surprises". :D

looks great BG!

No prob Punkp88, glad to help! Like you said, BigToke probably got sick of answering stuff that is outlined clearly in the BioBucket thread. I don't blame him, TBH. But, in the meantime, I can offer help to any current or aspiring Bio-Bucketeers.

And now, for the pics! These were taken with my 2 MP camera, on the 3rd, excuse the crappiness. My bro will bring his camera by soon. These pics are of the BioBucket room, the first is the lonely bucket I yanked a clone out of, it now has a new clone in it's place.

A couple of pics of my modded Stanley blower:

Some pics of the soil plants. The tall one is the sativa blueberry I got from a friend, and the other is AK. I had to pull them out of the room, my camera doesn't do too great in HPS light. Thats also whats up with the Bio-Bucket pics, I took them right after the lights shut off with a CFL behind me.

budgood, just noticed the message you left....I ended up going with RDWC since i couldent get any help with the bio buckets at the time...It was ether bio buckets or rdwc from the start...I understood how rdwc works for the most part so thats what ive been building. Im making a final parts list for the rest of what i need rite now...I still have questions in general if you are still interested in helping or giving advice! actually rite now im about to order my water pumps, 1 for my chiller and 1 to recirculate my nutrients...I was wondering if you anyone reading has any experience with magdrive pumps or ecoplus submersible pumps...im not sure which one to go with, the grow shop says they are both comparable but the magdrive is 60$ for 250gph and the ecoplus is 21.99 for the 264 gph pump...I have a magdrive5 pump and it looks to be built better than the eco plus? looks can be deceiving though anyone have any input?

Yes, they were everything promised. Here is the post I posted in the clone scene thread:

A good review for a quality service

Definitely! And, whilst on that topic, I'm going to give clonedoctors service 2 thumbs up. The clones I recieved were pest free, healthy and well rooted. 3 of them (OG Kush, Hollands Hope and Blueberry) were in rockwool blocks, 2" I think, and had many roots coming out of the block, nice and healthy. The Juliet(C99xNYCD) came in a cup with soil, and was nicely rooted as well as being good size. I picked them up on the 13th, and 2 weeks later they're growing nicely into the 1 gallon pots I put them in, a few more wet/dry cycles and they'll go into 3's. Overall, I'm VERY pleased with the transaction, will use his service again in the future, and would recommend his service to any CO MMJ patient looking for healthy, pest free cuts. Can't wait to flower these babies out!

I have experience with both, buy the Magdrive, I have a Mag 3 and a Mag 7, both have been running on and off for over 5 years, no problems other than the filter falling off (my fault) and the pump clogging with roots. A quick cleaning later & it was right back to business.

I have an Eco-Plus, bought it because it was cheap, now I see why it was cheap, the MagDrive is superior, I'd buy another MagDrive if I could do it over again. :2cents:

Hey bud, can you throw us a quote on what kind of budget to have when building a bio bucket system such as yours?

I never sat down and figured it out, I'd say around 1000-1500, maybe a bit less. I had sooooooo many trips to & countless hours spent at, Home Depot, Lowes and Big R. It can be a huge PITA, especially if you aren't handy with tools, as a friend found out when he tried to build a copy of my room. As a sparky, and having done framing in the past, I'm well-versed in the use of tools and such. For people that aren't handy or just don't want to dick with building a system like this, I'd recommend the Under Current hydro system. Pricey but highly effective.

what kind of flip/flopper you running? those electro yeilders look alright, everything else i looked at seem a bit overpriced for my stingy ass, not to mention more bulbs/hoods/cables.

love the rooms but really love the bio buckets. Pulling chair up to catch the show been doing dwc for little while now and want a little less maintenance.

both well tuned

much respect, im only beginning to work on hydro, altough ive found dwc to be incredibly easy so far; my only problem being too much roots!!! (if you consider that a problem)

peace man awsome grow
