What size fan/filter for 240cu ft.

Guys whats up, I need some help. This will be my 1st go around using odor control.
I'll be running a 1k light in a room that has 240 cubic feet.
What size in-line fan & filter combo should I run?

I was about to buy a 6" Vortex w/ a Can-Filter 50, but I thought I'd seek some other opinions before I plunker down the $.

Budget is $500ish.

Not sure what you actually mean by cooling the light.
I was just going to connect the ducting to the hood, I'm not going to have ducting blowing air into the light, just being sucked out of the hood and out the attic.

a 240cuft closet @ 3x a minute is at least 80 CFM for exhausting the CAB ONLY (but I would say at least 2x that so as to assist in cooling also). 160CFM

I use .3-.4 CFM per watt to cool a bulb through an AC hood or cooltube.

So Id say another 350 CFM to cool the BULB ONLY.

I add a few CFMs just for shits and giggles! So........ IMO you would need.....

atleast a 450 CFM without a scrubber, and somewhere around 5-600 with one.

That is if you use 1 fan to cool and exhaust. A nice 8-10" vortex would be good!

You can use seperate fans to cool and exhaust also if you choose to setp your system that way.

If you are going to be using just one exhuast fan to both air-cool the light and to ventilate/exhuast the grow + deodorize the air I'd look into more then a 6" fan depending on ambient temps.Maybe an 8" fan.

For the filter I'd probably use a Can Filter 50 or Can Filter 75.The fan a 6" 492cfm-440cfm inline centrifugal. The reason I brought up a bigger fan then a 6" is you could control the noise using a solid state speed controller and this would help reduce noise made by the fan.The airflow of the fan would be reduced but since it is overkill it would be slowed down to that of the 6" fan while still operating quietly.

what height is the room? if its decent height id use a 6 in vortex profilter combo, wide open, no speed control. the dimming or browning out the motor makes a loud hum and is inefficient.

i think it best to connect filter directly to fan when possible.

the 10" vortex looks like it fell off the wing of a jet. its huge and gonna be so loud w all the air rushing.
