My friend keeps mentioning (without provocation by me) that he wants to start growing. He said he wants to try one plant and see how it goes. I was thinking about giving him my 70w HPS for this purpose but I am pretty sure that would be a dead give-away. I have known the guy for a little more than 3 years, played in a band with him. Smoked and drank and partied with him. He has fem'd seeds and I want to see him grow them out so badly!

sorry dude let him flail.. why expose yourself. if he is meant to grow he will simply look online like most of us did when we first started. if he is smart enough then it will work out.. if he is talking to you about growing it already shows he lacks a sense of self preservation. you want him telling everyone about your grow and how you really helped him out. sound harsh but think about YOU and your safety.

Man I wouldn't even do it on the second grow, but it's all up to you. Like someone said above if he's telling you he's already f(l)ailing. You could always just mention "this site that came up once when I was looking up a strain, called ICmag" as somewhere to look up mj related shit.
Then end the convo and change subject talking about some other mutual interest.
He will be kissing your feet the next day for showing him the best site on the internets.
