dresser with false drawers. lined with pleated mylar, 250 hortilux with digital ballast, s&p 5" exhaust, built the exhaust adaptor with home depot hvac adaptors, the back door is sealed with rubber weather stripping that fit into the ledge perfect. excellent seal, have pvc elbows under to bend the light, it will be completely light and sound proof, the fan makes very slight noise way way way less than my other cab which has computer fans. it also has 100 watts worth of t5's mounted on the top. the bottom is coated with rubber undercoating so its not destroyed by the moisture. I just need to finish wrapping up a few things and it should be running by tonight. Thanks for looking

Awesome thats a sweet cab bro. Depending on your growing skill you should be able to harvest a QP from that dresser. Well done cant wait to see it in action. Peace

i was shooting for 6oz but i would be cool with 4. i was thinking of doing half sog and half scrog. gram per watt 250/28 would be 9 ounces. I just gotta hope i get a decent mom from my deformed seedlings

Cab looks nice! S&P 5" is a little of an unusual choice - most go for either the 4" or the 6". Let us know how it works out for you in terms of how well fan works and noise on the fan due to duct size conversion on the flanges, please :)

You may want to do some more reading on the digital ballasts when used with the Hortilux line. Those are great bulbs - and that greatness comes at a steep price too. Generally speaking, Hortilux bulbs have not performed well with digital ballasts and frequently break according to some users.

More importantly - are not recommended for use with e ballasts by Hortilux.

I have both a digital ballast (Galaxy dual 250) and I picked up a 400w Sun System 1 mag core ballast too for use with a CMH bulb. I would prefer to be able to use my e-ballast, but there are some applications where it's not appropriate for the bulb. CMH bulb being the biggie.

I'd hate to see you dish out a ton of dough for a top rated bulb only to have it flash and burn on you after a few weeks because of the ballast. Read and give it some thought as to whether that is the bulb you really want to use with your ballast. At the least, you'll start your grow with eyes wide open on the bulb compatability issue. Even if you do give the Hortilux a spin, it's well worth your grabbing a cheap ($20) Sylvania/Phillips bulb for back up in both veg and flower. If something goes wrong, you can be Johnny-on-the-Spot with a new bulb.

And yeah - shooting for four Z's seems a good target with a new system. Good luck to you!

Keep us posted!

i got the back door mylared and the hinges and lock put on. i decided i need magnetic locks on top middle and top and bottom side in order to make a perfect seal. I also mounted the power strip and put the hasp lock on

i really wanted hid for this cab. i wish you all could hear how quiet it is. the slight noise that does exist i will be putting a mini fish bowl with air pump on top of the cab along with a small flat screen tv. when i was in college many years ago i seen many cabs and none were very stealth. only thing not stealth about my cab is the hinges in which i am thinking about running a piece of velcro along both sides and the top and making a cloth door with velcro to cover the back. the hinges are very tiny. 1 inch by 1/2. I will have to post more pics tomorrow. the cab is moving to its home in my bedroom tonight.
