where i live, choppers train here every year. can easily see 8-10 choppers here flying for practice.. then they disperse leaving the 2-3 local ones to fly and do there thing. they start normally in about june. since theres so many gardens around here, they take pictures and pot where the gardens are at, and pick the biggest ones to start with and work there way down. they dont stop till october, even then ur not safe cuz they will come to ur house (backyard gardens), and take ur dry pot while ur trimming.

can u be a bit more specific about where you are talking about?

I live around a small airport and mostly see fixed wing aircraft but the fly as slow as choppers, recon is recon whether its from a plane or chopper. theirs guys that hang from cords under the choppers, they do all kinds of surveillance. I remember seeing a DEA team in some news flick taking pictures at so many feet up and locating their targets for choppers to focus on. I get plains flying from all angles directly overhead but no worries, the anxiety comes when so much weight is drying or stored on hand and we are bound to state law of 8ounces per patient caus our locals are more connected to fed law over state law (Our locals don’t allow dispensaries so we cant send excess harvest to any sort of bank/coop/collective, our main goal is to stay in compliance with both weight and plant #'s but our health is our greatest concern and it comes before any cookie-cutter compliance 'the man' sets up). If cops come by and find more then 3lb and some still on the plants, an indoor grow coming along they wont take second thought about 'if' its legit medical and for personal use. They wont ask if it’s for a year-round supply and supplemental to our indoor cultivation, it’s out of compliance and their supposed to seize all marijuana at that point. I’m too lazy for any gorilla venture.

We dread compliance checks too, with no dispensaries the locals just want to limit our doctor recommended supplies or import medicine. Its the big issue now, compliance checks year-round especially in October -they come by to see how much your working with, and turn caregivers into convicts. We are only allowed 1lb between our 2 cards and looking at several lb's to harvest and at least a 1/2lb coming down soon indoors were starting to worry but its a technicality -they should respect us and our medical needs, regardless how all these dif people want to interpret prop 215. We need an affordable supply and outdoor cultivation is intended to supply for the whole year with far less cost then any other means of supply. -Cops just don’t understand:noway:

the mexican cartels wouldnt have to be so blatent about it, a .50 sniper rifle will drop those birds with little evidence.
and it could of come from a domestic farmer too.

"...The equipment it carries consists of a high quality digital camera and a heat sensing camera. Additionally, one of the most intriguing items of this aerial observation tool is the ‘cannabis sniffer’, a sensor used for the intake of air samples, to instantly recognise particles indicating the presence of cannabis...."

What county are you in? Have you spoken to a lawyer? I'm not sure that "compliance checks" are legal. The Police are not a regulatory agency. They are an enforcement agency. I would definitely contact your lawyer or a local advocacy group.

I have let the sheriff into my garden to see that we are in compliance... At the time, all my plants were vegging and I had 12 per patient (and a couple of extras he made me take down, but gave me a week to do it.) He said he'd be back in spetember to make sure we were down to 6 per patient. I saw the same deputy on my street yesterday as I was leaving so I flagged him down and asked him if he was going to my place. I don't think he remembered who the hell I was and was for sure not on his way to my place to check in... He was like "Oh yeah... you guys are totally cool. I'm just on my regular patrol." Now I feel like a bit of an idiot for reminding him that I exist.

If the guy showed up at my house during trim and wanted to come inside to see if we are in compliance, i'd make him show me a warrant. Unlikely that he has one.

At trim time I will have 6 scripts on the premises, each with a recommendation for 5lbs. (Yay, Doc Hopkins!!!) There is court precedent on the county level that would make them return anything that they seized, and pay court fees...

The sheriff of this county has gone on record as saying that he believes that marijuana will be legal at some time in the not-too-distant future, so he is not going to try and be a hero about it. The mendocino sherriff was re-elected on a tough-on-pot platform, so in that county, though considered a mecca for growing (i could go into a dozen reasons why this is false) there are "examples" made of residential growers all the time. The sweep in early may of 24-plant indoor single-mom grows probably made it to the pages here at ICMag.

Anyhow... I ramble because I rolled a very irresponsibly sized spliff-for-one of the now well-cured (3 weeks) Bubba Kush. I should save this shit for me own thread.

pot sniffing choppers? wonder how well that works.

as for those things flying around here in the US- well, the ACLU and others would probably have a problem- as would much of the public- if the gov't. were to acquire cheap and plentiful surveillence aircraft. i'm sure there are plenty of 4th amendment arguments that could be made against such a novel, intrusive approach.

somehow i think the public would definitely equate drone aircraft with wartime afghanistan/iraq, and not think too kindly of it in most places.

on the other hand, if you're in a remote location, and see an unmanned aircraft near your property (or your crop) flying slow and low, a couple 12 gauge birdshot would change things up. and you wouldn't be hurting anyone. pot growers, libertarians, and anti-gov right wingers united with mossbergs and remingtons.

good luck guys! i never really worried about that being in california, but these other californians that have spoke have me somewhat worried. i mean, i only have 4 plants on my patio right now, but i know i've heard choppers and there is a large field behind my neighborhood and the neighborhood across the street.

what county? enforcement of 215/420 varies so much county to county. if the question bothers you, i won't be offended.
