Room design headaches

My potential room is at the back of an old walk in safe/vault. It's located in my entrance hall.

My problems are ventilation as the walls are reinforced so no chance of a vent. There is no door to the room but I intend installing a wooden one.
As it's in my hallway I don't want a big fan vented into it as my landlord and guests will catch onto it.

The vault is 9' long, 5' wide at the door and tapers to 2.5' at the back wall. I'm going to build a wall and door frame to seperate a 4' long grow room at the back.

Here's a photo. The room will be seperated where the raised floor starts.
Does anyone have any ideas to help me??:1help:

Looks like you have a lot of options. What is the floor or ceiling made of? If you can't go through any of that, then what about building a fake wall a foot or two behind the door that you could set up air vents into the fake wall.

Yes we can see pics now.

As i'll be using a carbon filter I guess I could vent straight into the non-growing part of the vault. I'll still need to get fresh air to the plants so i'll need to duct it from the outer door somehow.

It looked like the ideal grow room when I first saw it, never thought about ventilation...

Bulldog has a great idea. I would look into partitioning the room with a fake wall and setup ventilation through there. Just make sure to have intake and exhaust fans running quietly.

Bite the bullet and drill the 2 air ways in the concrete! You can stealth an intake and exhaust duct on the adjacent wall, away from the entrance way. It'll be work, but your plants require ventilation...

have you considered building a decent cab and then putting it in there? hang a rug or something over the entrance or put a door in that allows ventilation. the exhaust could be on the back furthest from the entrance and this would be less noisy. passive intake on the fron or side. better stealth too as even if someone looks in they see a cupboard.
a fishtank or something in the hall will mask the noise too.

good luck,

V.

unless you plan on drilling throught the walls for an exhaust, you are screwed IMO! Its going to heat up VERY quickly unless you figure out a way to exhaust the heat from your bulb.

Plus you say something aobut it being stealth for your LL and guests? What are you goin got do about smell? With out a sealed door there i no way you are going to be able to keep the smell in.

You would be better off trying in a different location because of the massive obstacles to overcome with this closet IMO.

Good Luck

Thanks for all the help guys.
I decided to keep my design inside the vault behind a second wall/door. I'm going to place a tall cupboard or wardrobe in front of the main door in the hallway so I can deaden any noise. I can vent through the side of this cupboard too. A removable back panel will give me access.
Will post a drawing sometime in the week when I get some time. It's going to be an interesting project!

Will a passive 6" intake work over a 5ft duct? I'll be using a 4" fan and filter for extraction.
