hi there i have just purchased some hoof and horn to use as a secondary nitrogen source for a long flowering 16 week+ sativa. My main nitrogen source is guano but i thought the plant would benefit from a little bit of slow release nitrogen throughout the long flowering cycle - many people in the usa use feather meal for this too i beleive.

anyway, has anyone ever used this or can advise me on an application rate?

thanks,

V.

I don't recommend it indoors for the smell.

I will compost with it especially when I have like Oak leaves in there.

I like it! I hate the smell.. Yucko..

It's in between blood and alfalfa on action.. Alfalfa powder is fast to be utilized where blood is a speed racer IMO..

Hoof and Horn will need some biological activity to reach it's full potential but since it's a little "slow" that way it lasts longer.
Count on sustained biological food in your mix in relation to the amount you add.

Can't offer direct experience at adding it raw in a pot for cannabis..

I believe it is excellent in the tumbler with other long term materials like pine shavings or Oak Leaves.

Try it and see..

Best of luck..

well, i used 2.5g/litre of soil in the end which is just under a tablespoon per gallon. by my heath robinson style calculation that's about a half-dose. we'll see if this 16week + sativa thinks i did the right thing...
