still2big, thanks! I went to the store looking for tomato cages, and they were expensive, and too big for my needs, so after some brainstorming I came up with that design. Initially I was going to wrap them with trellis netting, but I did one, didn't like how it came out, so I used nylon string, tied some nice knots, and taped the ends with white electrical tape, just to be sure. I ended up using the trellis netting for the soil room, so it was all good. Waste not, want not. :smoker: The best part is now I can easily adjust where the shoot is growing, and I can pick up the lid directly by the support, like a handle.

Marshmello, you guys and your pics, lol. I have to concur with SweetBOG. Besides, I'm not so interested in a set of tittys, more in the substance of a woman. Titties sag, beauty fades, but internal beauty is always there. :)

SweetBOG, lol, it's all good :D

Now how about Titties AND substance!!!!!!

Now how about Titties AND substance!!!!!!

Enough of that..... now I'm digressing..... or is it regressing...... ;0P

Nice setup BudGood.... definitely a good choice on strains. The Blueberry--is it Dutch Passion or DJ Short? I have to say I was less than impressed with the DJ Short version. I have a lot more experience with the DP so that may be it but the output and quality were not even comparable.

AK is it from SS... as I have said before, "I love Simon's gear". Anything else is just not AK.... 47 that is...

Looks like you have really tweaked these rooms to their fullest.... nice attention to details. I agree with the all white..... like it to look like a lab. I must confess I do use an Eggshell so it is easier to keep clean. I know not as reflective but if it is dirty... it is not reflecting anyway.

Peace

bud! whatup mang? love the setup

how do you feel about the LL?

are these new rooms? i'm curious what kind of yields you're getting in the soil vs buckets?

i've got a bagbean from the local ak going, do yours wreak in veg like mine?

cocktail frank, thanks! I've had problems with plants getting too top-heavy in the buckets, so hopefully my little stoner-innovation keeps em standing at attention! While on the subject of standing at attention, your Big Pink Pole looks pretty damn amazing! :canabis:

clonedoctor and sweetBOG, hell yeah, pull up a chair, and grab some popcorn! :lurk:

Peat, :D. It's kind of like a plant, it's stinky, pretty, grows fast, finishes quick, but if it ain't quality, don't matter how pretty it is, SEE YA! :biglaugh:

SacredBreh, the BB is from a friend, I don't know the lineage, the AK is from SS, I believe 97 is when the seed of this was popped. It's old, but still puts off quality stuff. I like the white walls myself, however the aluminized foamboard was just sitting there beggin' to be used. I plan on sheeting any walls that don't have the melamine on it already, in between grows. This was done just to get it done and running, money is running short, need to pump out a harvest! :)

Hydrosun, thanks! I was initially going to get tomato cages and do some fabbing, after seeing the prices (5-8 dollars apiece, and I needed 10) I came up with this solution, works better, looks better, is MUCH sturdier, and I designed it & built it with my own hands! Ya can't go wrong with less expensive on a budget! :D

One Love, thanks man. It's funny you say that (living the dream), I joke and use that saying all the time, but I said it seriously to a good friend I haven't seen for years the other day, and I truly feel like it. Med patient/caregiver, able to grow 100% legally, I got my setup tweaked almost where I want it (although being the person I am, will probably always find improvements to make on my original design/build). Once I get myself stable and the bills all paid, then I will truly feel like I'm "living the dream". Right now I take care of my patients with meds at cost, because the prices are so damn high, I wouldn't feel right charging them a penny more. Once I can provide them with my meds, things will be different, I'll be able to charge them a fair price, make a living, but not get rich off my patients. :bat: And, as my good friend pikes peak 69 has shown me, I will begin to pay it forward, help those who are struggling financially with donated meds.

rooted, hey bro, howzit? The Liquid Light is FU**ING AWESOME. There are no other words that can adequately describe how much I love this shit! I've seen growth in the hydro room of inches a day! They respond in soil, just not as noticeably as in hydro. Make sure to use it in conjunction with their Penetrator (now renamed Saturator due to compliance with some European law or something), it help it to penetrate the cell walls, making it much more effective, I use it with every foliar feeding I do, LL or not. The BioBucket room was built, I just made some modifications (better pump, new netpot lids, the modular supports, new res, new float valve, an actual water line instead of using a trash can to mix RO and tap, now I just use straight tap, the Stanley blower for an intake, the cheap fans hung by the bulbs, and a few things that are eluding me at the moment.) The soil room was just built, I was going to, and still have it ready in case I decide to, make the soil room into another BB room, but after I got laid off, I decided to just go soil in that room, and expand the BioBuckets later if I decide, due to the buckets taking a bit of $$$ to build, and due to needing to get some income rolling as soon as possible. The buckets always kill the soil in yield, and I would say even taste better, with all these mods, I can see it whupping on the soil side bigtime. I can't say what the Blueberry will do yieldwise, as I've never grown it, but if the roots are any indication of it's vigor, it could do quite nicely, as the Blueberry had some crazy vigorous roots. Yes, my AK stinks in veg. I've had very few plants that were stinky early on, that didn't turn out to be great in the end, so chances are good that'll be a good one! :woohoo:

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Kola Radical

Very nice setup, Bud. I need to get a co2 system like that. I am growing on the cheap myself with the kiss system. I'm using white trash bags hung on the wall for reflective material.

Kola Radical, thanks man! I've had this generator for years, bought it a few months after Blu-Ox put out their first one, mine is a high quality copycat, lol. I think altgarden sells em, mine is the 4 burner, works great for the size of room! One thing, I did see someone use high temp sealant to seal the air-cooling box, so it doesn't pull out CO2 with the heat. I have yet to do that, as the high temp sealant was 20-40 for a tube! :yoinks: Hey, if white trash bags work, cool! Panda is expensive is hell! :D

Thanks for stoppin' in bro! :joint:

quick info on water level and medium

quick info on water level and medium

Hey Bud good whats up!
great cages by the way
just wanted to ask a few questions
Its my first bio grow

Im also going to use the 5 gallon lids with the 6' net pot because I already have some
Bit toke and others say to use the 8' pots because they hold more lava rock

Do you use red lava rock and does it matter what size?

Does it make a difference between the 6' and 8' ?

How many inches of lava rock should be submerged in water?
Ive heard a lot of different stories about water being too high and causing problems.

Many thanks,
Punkp

Yes, I use red, there was an assortment of sizes, I picked out the smaller stuff and used it. The really big stuff I didn't use. Initially, I used 8" pots, I bought these one piece 6" lid and net pot in one, they work fine. Just remember to keep the clone stem out of the water and you'll be fine. So long as you have some of the lava rocks touching the water, you'll be good, as the beneficial bacteria colonize where the water and air meet on the rocks. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask!

Hey there BudGood!!

I thought I would put my ass in a chair for this. You seem to have things well under control and I got a lot of respect for that. Must be a good feeling being a care giver. I'd really like to do that someday. What a good feeling to provide people with relief. Good job, firend. keep it up.

Best,

- Hella

Damn Bud, that is one tight, clean, professional looking setup, I'm impressed.
Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it.
Off to a great start already.

Thanks bro, it's nice to get feedback from others that grow and/or have grown. :)

I had a bit of a hiccup: I was adjusting the ball valves on the buckets, the flow was way too strong, and the water level was above the drains, not good, it needs to be about halfway up the drains, to allow proper drainage. I accidentally shut one of the plants valves a little too far, as a result, it went almost completely without flow for a day or so. When I realized, it had already damn near sucked the bucket dry, and a lot of the roots looked like crap. :yoinks:

This was a few days ago, last night when the lights turned on, the plant is visibly wilting, the damn thing was choked, couldn't uptake water, from all the dead roots. I ended up pulling it, I'm gonna either put another AK, I've got a whole 'nother set of clones rooting, so there will be an empty spot for only a day or 3 tops. It'll be a couple of weeks behind the rest, no biggie though, the AK is finished enough to harvest around day 45-47, but I like to let it go til day 60-65, so if I can get another AK in quickly enough, it'll be ready to harvest when everything else is at day 60 or so. Shitty, it's even worse because it was avoidable and was all my fault. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Trichy, flexing and a flower? :) You always have some awesome smileys sweetie! :sasmokin:

Hella THC, yeah, it is awesome. This is my first grow as a patient/caregiver, it's nice to know that my growing skill is actually going to help people. It's a great feeling. ;) Thanks for the props.

Thanks for stoppin' in everyone!
