depends on the system; i've found the more i foliar the less problems i have all around; water temps are always important even with just drip(if your room is like 86f with co2 you need a chiller with a sitting res if it's in the same room); ewc tea brewed up 2x a week added in small amounts to all res'z and hydrosystems keeps the root rot at bay and beneficials high; i can get a rather ugly looking res with NO SMELL if i stay on top of the benes, clean things that need to be cleaned with physan20 instead of bleach; dutch master penetrator is still the best wetting agent i've found and you can spray with the lights on without burning your plants, i like the neem extracts like azatrol or azamax if i'm combating bugs other than thrips/mites and just that alone as a foliar once a week can keep most pests away during veg, spinosad for thrips, floramite before flipping to flower to prevent mites.... all sorts of different preventive measures you can take... gnatrol in the res to prevent any fungus gnats from getting a foothold if you're introducing new cuts to your garden etc.... once i get a good rootmass in my dwc systems i only do addbacks and don't drain the systems as i don't like to put the roots through all that stress... i also replace the airstones half way through flower; i leave a lot of extra line when i install them so i just cut the old one off in the root mass and place a new one on the bottom of the bucket to get a boost in do for the end of the run; i use the 6" ones so they are cheap to replace and i'm only running a six site rdwc rig currently

hope that's a start for you

The cleanest res is crap free. The more crap you put in the res, the more full of crap your res will be. Quite commonly grows are trouble free until preventatives are added causing the very problem the grower was trying to avoid. The easy fix is to add nothing. No LiquidCraptastic™, no SuperSlimer™, no Plants-B-Dead™.

Out of boredom and curiosity, I grew during the summer. Cab temps near 100º, water temps over 80º. No algae, no rot, no nothing but beautiful buds. Nothing in the res but GH FloraMicro-FloraBloom-pH down and tons of bone white roots.

even if my roots are yellow and not bone white, what FB describes is how I have been doing it for years w/o airstones and it is super hot and dry here. Been able to clear a pound a plant as well. Moving up to bigger containers and other upgrades now.

Peace, :joint:

Physan 20. I had to get it for slime, I use it continuously to prevent it now. My temps were in check just got slime lol. It makes your shit smell good, all the crud bubbles and forms a ring, I wipe down the buckets with 91% iso alcohol during changeouts ( make sure to wash down the alcohol residue before fillup )

get physan 20 and dont use it unless you get problems running str8 nutes, my advice.

1. add an inch or two of perlite to the top of your container (not dwc, nft, or aero) to prevent soil borne pests.
2. bleach down rooms (walls, ceiling, floor) inbetween cycles.
3. don't wear shoes or clothing from outside in the grow room. you are your own worst enemy.
4. inoculate root mass with endo myco on final transplant.
5. sulfur vaporizer every week, sometimes twice. until week 5 or so.
6. don't foliar spray after week 4 of bloom, or after significant bud development. moisture = mold.
7. filter intakes with something rated for mold and other allergens. hosiery just stops bugs.
8. circulate air with oscillating fans.
9. line floor with pondliner
there are more, but someone else will get to them

I use Cannzym to prevent root rot and rinse with FloraKleen to prevent salt buildup with drippers and sprayers. I haven't had any problems yet!

10!!!! Dam, at 35% you only need 1.0ml. Maybe you just missed the (.) when you typed that.

I meant of the 3% solution. Yeah 10 mL/L of 35% would be a little intense. LOL I don't know where to get 35% solution, where do you source it from? I can buy a gallon of 3% for about $8.99 at Smart and Final.

I'd like to use the 35% as it would be more economical I should think.

Hydro shops carry the 35% under the brand name mad farmer oxygenator...the 3% has nasty chem stabilizers so don't use it on your crops. Use the 35% or don't use it at all...

look out this shit is corrosive and nothing like %3 DON'T LET IT TOUCH YOUR HANDS DON'T BREATHE IT IN AND DON'T LET IT SPLASH IN YOUR EYES....
