WOW internet censorship is here! Sad day-i thought only countries like China adopted such techniques??
Crazy goverments in a crazy world......when will they see sense?

Icmag was INDEED blocked by certain ISPs that were involved in the Australian gov't's effort to censor the Internet. The fact that it is NO LONGER censored is a result of Aussie citizens responding to threads like these and demanding that their ISPs not censor the Internet.

At one point THOUSANDS of websites were censored under the program. Don't believe me, look it up.

My understanding is that icmag was NOT blocked nor was any other pot site. The fact that I could access ANY OTHER POT SITE including OZSTONERS (which is a site specifically for the Australian community), suggests that there was some other reason why so many could not get on here recently from Oz.

With respect, if you have any evidence to the contrary please share.

I was unaware that Australia had Internet censorship enacted. Are you sure that this isn't either your Internet service provider or a third-party firewall blocking this connection?

People either aren't reading this thread or they are not understanding.

For a time early this year some members from australia could not get on here without a proxy. This lasted a month or so. It is finished now. You can now get on here without a proxy from Australia. Many member assumed it was due to government trial of its net censorship. This now appears to not be the case. There were some here with the same ISP who got different results. Also no pot sites were listed on the proposed banned sites anyway. There must have been some other reason apart from net censorship that explains why we couldn't get on here

Some of you should actually read what is being written here. I will say it again. NO OTHER POT SITES WERE EFFECTED.

not sure what the problem was hard rain but when i couldnt get on icmag i contacted my isp and they stated that they were trialing new software and it for some reason it had blocked all sites outside of Australia and they were trying to corect the problem but it took them about 3 days for me to be able to access alot of things my problem was running firefox and mozilla as their proxy is outside oz so i couldnt even get my mail because of the mozilla but its all good now, It was my assumtion that it was the censorship trial when they stated they were trialing new software but it may not have been

im wondering since marijuana is the subject of this site and marijuana is classed along side heroin cocain speed ecstacy etc,how come i cant log on to a website aimed directly at and in support of these other drugs, il tell you why,because unlike marijuana ,these other drugs do actualy fuck up society and the people who use em! this website and any other marijuana website clearly displays that there is a high level of intelligence and knowlage amongst the cannabis community,now if marijuana was such a hard drug and as destructive as they say then wouldnt we be out stealing and robbing to buy the shit and get that next fix! personally i like to get high,enjoy the pain releif it provides me with for my colitis and read a book, tend my plants and enjoy the sun,and the only way in which any off my fam or friends suffer from my cannabis use is me actin like a clown and having a laugh........ oh and that time i got so stoned that i beat my wife and kids and burnt the house down in a fit of rage! jokes hahahahahahahaha

It has never been legal to grow, however some states (WA &SA) decriminalised growing a certain number of plants. In recent times most states have clamped down on this. In SA you used to be able to grow 10 plants but organised crime became involved and fucked it for the rest. SA basically became the state that supplied the rest of the country with compressed hydro.Not sure what the limits are now but they are low.

Most of Australia has never decriminalised growing pot.

hey hughsy, do you know what the indictable amount of marijuana plants indoors is? i know its 50 or more for outdoors in nsw,so its kinda safe to get done with under 50 outside but i am not sure bout indoor nums,a few years back they had a news article stating all the new charges for what amount for indoor marijuana grows and they call docs and shit,though a couple guys have been done round my area for indoor and they just got fined and behaviour bond.

They put down a dingo the other day becasue it growled at a kid on the beach, pretty drastic, but they do kill.

There is no current filtering but there is a trial that is finishing in the next week or so, i guess the government will make a decision after that.
