First experiment with old computer parts

This indoor grow is my first Micro Grow setup made from some old computer parts (cleaning apartment) and chair box.

Dimensions of the box:

Width: 30cm
Height: 60cm
Length: 90cm

I used two computer 12.5cm fan, one for intake (800 RPM) and one for out-take (1500 RPM). CFL are 2x23W (cool white) and 1x23W (warm white).

I made this in one day, practically cleaning my apartment. I am planing to add one more 23W (cool white). I have spent 50€ for fans and lights, thats all I bought.

So the grow box is made, and I planted eight germinated bag-seeds, previously in water for 24hrs. Lights are currently set to 16/8.

Day 5 - Most of bag-seeds sprouted. Yey!! :D

Temperature is 26°C, humidity 67%.

This is how they looked on 7th day. Soil was added 6th day.

Temperature is 24,5°C, humidity 65%.

Day 9 and plants are developed nice.

Temperature is 25,4°C, humidity 61%.

And today is the 12th day.

Temperature is 25°C, humidity 58,6%. Pictures are taken outside on sun. :canabis:

I will keep you informed!

Feel free to post your comments, more pictures can be found in my gallery.

Have fun!

Damn, 14 days old CFL light is dead. Bad made i guess.

I mounted new CFL light (cool white) and moved plants closer to lights. So now I have 3x23W cool white CFL lights. In some 7 days i'll put another one, so it gets total 92 watts.

Also I will make scrubber, because on 21 day I will probably put plants on 12/12.

If you notice something wrong please feel free to comment.

Have fun.

It looks darker on the right side of the box. You will need to change the bulb on the right sight bro.

Mini Charcoal Scrubber

Mini Charcoal Scrubber

Very soon my plants will have some smell, so I made my own Charcoal scrubber.

I took 2 cd cakes for front and end of the scrubber. In between are two steel grids, 1cm approx. apart, so the charcoal would fit in.

I made two grids, outer and inner.

Then I assembled inner grid with bottom of outer.

Inner grid glued to bottom is then fitted in outer grid and filled with charcoal.

When two grid parts were together I finished the bottom.

And after while finishing Mini Charcoal Scrubber.

Done! Waiting for fan to be installed.

Updated to 138 Watts overall

Updated to 138 Watts overall

Man, it was time to do some mayor changes in grow box. So I updated box, with 3 more lights (23W-cw). Totally there is now 138 watts. Also I worked on inside of box, glued aluminum foil and duck-taped it.

Consequently temperature is now 38-39 deg. Celsius. Almost unthinkable...

...and the plants (11 days old) on the same day - 15th day of the project.

Disaster followed the next day in the morning.
Little accident happened because I didn't took enough time to attach light properly,... Yes, lights felt down and burned seedlings... not all, but it was sad day in some ways. It wasn't nice looking place in there... I guarantee you that.

That is now fixed like it should be done at start of the project. I can't upload images, because my gallery is full.

Today is 19th day, plants
(15 days old) no.4 and no.6 looks very good, no.2 a little less, no.1 and no.8 survived lightning crash landing. Others are dead.

Thanks to my friend who helped me solve many problems.

have fun.

Ok, I gain some space by deleting other pics. So here they are, surviving plants...

Because there is very hot inside, I decided to take away active intake and make it passive. And then I attached this fan for exaust of hot air. Temperature dropped a little bit, 1 to 3 deg. Celsius.

I found very interesting that plants aren't having any problem with that hi temperature... at this time.

I am calling them now - Tropicannabis ;)

Upgraded minigrow with plexi glass

Upgraded minigrow with plexi glass

I had a problem with very high temperatures, around 37 deg.C, very hot indeed...

...but that is now past, because I put PlexiGlass 2cm below lights. That way I reduced temperature in grow chamber for whole 10 deg.C... :joint: So the temperature is now when lights are switched on, 26 and when switched off, 21-25 deg.C depends on room temperature.

This is how it looks from out-take side where fans are mounted, one for lights chamber, on opposite side is passive intake and one fan below the plexiglass for grow chamber which also has passive intake.

I've added two more bag-seeds, already planted in pots. Plants which survived lights crash down are healthy looking, only one is having some problems, but I don't really know what is wrong.

And other two healthy looking plants.

Overall I am happy with today's improvement of grow box, because its closer to what it should be.

And here is the front side shot of all plants under the plexiglass.

Till next time. Have fun.

Oi Peksman, they sprouted and they are 2 cm tall right now. I think I am going to move them closer too plexi glass.

Other two plants, no.4 and no.6, on which I started practicing low stress are nicely developed at this moment.

Temperature is stable, but around 29-30 deg. C when lights are switched on. The plants aren't showing any "too-high" temperature signs, as I would know. At night, lights off, box temperature is from 21 to 25 deg. C as mentioned in previous post.

Thanks for your concern. Hf.

Hungry like a pack of wolves

Hungry like a pack of wolves

25th day of two newbies, which are taking all the place in micro grow, cause they are so big and beautiful.

Again I will put link here from friends gallery (thanks again):
album.php

I am fertilized them this morning @8, and around 1400 hours plants and their roots drank all the fertilizer.... wtf. The soil was practically dry?!?! Damn, those two. :D

They two are really nasty hungry and they need more and more every day.

I read a lot about overwatering them and this and that.... how the hell can you over water this two's?!?! Impossible I guess.

Other three plants are just doing fine. I will probably put them on flowering this monday, when 2 newbies will be 28 days old.

What do you think pps?

HF&BS.
