I was just curious if it would be beneficial to use my t5 for the first week or two durind flowering to keep stretch at a minimum and keep the internodes tights, then switch over to the 600 hps? Or would doing that negatively effect my yield?

Thanks

Use the 600w HPS for flower. I don't think you are going to get any benefit out of using the T5 as they aren't very powerful.

Flip them vertically and use them as side lights for the whole flowering. I don't even have an overhead light at the moment, I do my entire flowering with T8 shop lights. T5 could do even nicer, especially with a 600W HPS overhead.

I'd leave them under the t5's for a month or so. I'm not sure if you have height restrictions or not, but the longer they are vegged, the more they produce. Just keep the flouros really close, but not touching the plants. If your garden grows fast you may have to raise them every two days or so. I flowered a batch too soon once and was disappointed in the yield.

However, if you are using MH bulbs as well as hps, then use the t5's until they are on the second set of real leaves then pop em under that 600w and they will look fantastic:)

search dr bud greengenes if you want to learn to work with less, and do better than HPS 600 with CFL 40 watt 2700K
