hi all
i'm trying to decide on the lighting for my grow box.
i was thinking a 150w hps but i dont think i could get much cooling...
L31 W34 H41cm
im also thinking about a led grow i only need a small amount of pot

i have around the same depth and width as your cab, but i have more height, that cab is going to be very stuck for headroom, a 70watt hps somtimes gets too hot in my cab, a 150 would fry an egg in your space.

Not knocking any other type of lighting but for a small amount of top quality buds, Fluoros are hard to beat, especially T5's or PL-L's. LED's still cost way more than they produce and they can't beat fluoros for efficiency.

yes i am, but i dont veg very long at all.

i use internal ignitor bulbs, so i could use an MH for veg if needbe, then switch right on over to the hps for flower.

listen to aerohead, hes a smart cookie.

CFL's and a couple plants straight to 12/12... 3-7 grams per plant and can fit in a cubic foot area.

id say maybe 100watts of cfl, 4 x 25watt bulbs.

and try LST or a screen of green, there is alot of into here if you follow this link and choose titles only searching "scrog" or "lst"

i would work well, it could take alot of head room and cause problems if you dont ventalate the area well enough

or 3 bulbs, two 40w+ 2700k's and one 26w 6500k. Should give you some power while also negating the heat somewhat

Trex if you're an aussie, you can get pll lights at hydro stores here. They come with a simple hood/reflector in a 2 bulb or 4 bulb setup. These are the best fluoro lights around at the moment. If price is an issue you can get them a little cheaper from online aquarium stores but any good hydro store or online hydro store should have them. They're not often called pll's here so theyre called stuff like 2g11 base, 4-pin, etc. Check out my thread or the pll club thread or any of the pll threads for details.



It's the perfect light for scrog.

i went out to the shops for a cheap light fixture for my cfl n i got 2 heavy duty worklights "uses general house hold 240V es type globe(max 60)"
3 of those should be good ?>

Yes they will work, I used them in my tent. I would suggest removing the yellow guard and cutting the black plastic off the tip, right where the reflector ends. Or cut the whole lot off and make your own reflector. They are a bit too enclosed using the built in reflector for good airflow to happen.
