agreed, if it flowers under 24hrs light then it's auto flower.

Now what about 'Semi auto' like Williams Wonder and plants that flower with more than 12/12, that is another thread I'm sure?

this is a trait i am trying to find

i said before on this forum the industry needs two classes of autos

1. auto dwarfs= theese flower inside of 18-25 days and finish in under 10 weeks

2. auto non dwarfs=theese flower around 6-8 weeks regardless of light schedule.

the non dwarfs that are availble seem to use this timeline but its not set in stone, breeding could stabalize a strain that buds at 5 weeks to whenever and it would be a non dwarf auto-

ive got a quicksilver auto that just started putting out hairs and its two months old in a few days and it was described by g-13 labs that it would do this

I think that a true AF must flower under any light schedule, between 17-21 days.

Regular seeds won't let you harvest a sativa strain such as Haze, or a sativa dominant strain such as Sour Diesel, Strawberry Cough, or Satori in the middle of summer. When these are made AF they will undoubtedly be longer flowering to retain their true characteristics. This allows people in colder climates to grow and finish sativa dominant strains before the frosts come.

It would be interesting to see how a sativa AF would do in poor conditions. It would open up a whole new market.

that statment is confusing and untrue. As a lot of NON -AF strains will flower in 17-21 days under 12/12 from seed. Also, I have Sativa AF hybrids that consistantly take 5 weeks to start flowering. Some phenos of Mossy's JEMS take up to 28 days to so sex, but go into overdrive and still finish in 70 days.

To put a day limit on the Stardard definition of AutoFlowering Types of Cannabis is not logical due to the variation from genetic, influences. The only thing that ALL TRUE Autoflowering Types share is the fact they flower under 24 hours of continuous light, when they hit thier "personal" critical flowering age, PCFA for short.

Hey guys....just a Funny thought..this "non-af af"...

does anybody think there is a possibility that the crossing of Long season girls..to AF's
has actually Created a 3rd species of cannabis.....?
Not full AF but not Long season either...a non-af af:yoinks:

I have this anomoly in my grow. I spotted it on my first AF's...

I defined it as Fast Flower. (FF)..(not quite AF)

It is not like a long season girl at all but it has remarkable similarities to AF...
except it is Big..

It has rapid growth..reaches sex at about 28-35 days.
Flowers on the Symetric..like AF's
Goes straight into accelerated budding..like AF's
finishes very early..Not light dependant...like AF
Will flower on an 18/6 light schedule
and seems to ignore the usual seasonal triggers associated with long season grows.

(I THINK it may be the non-af af's that you are talking about being ripped off
with.)

What do you think

Have We just found a Missing Link..:woohoo:

I would have to say no you did not create a 3rd species, nor did you find the missing link.

You are creating new strains by crossing strains and breeding for specific traits.

true AF?`means to me just do autoflowering :) stay small grow under any light XD

they dont neccesarily stay small though, that is a familiar misconception with auto's. as long as a plant goes into flower under 24/0 it is an autoflower. it could be 100ft tall but as long as it flowers under 24/0 it is as much an autoflower as a 2inch tall lowryder.
