Whats the deal with tea?

Such a general question we know, but we are new to the indoor organic community. In our batch of worm castings we ordered, the farm we ordered from included some paperwork on how to make tea out of the worm castings. I often see posts about different teas and am unsure of when and why to use...

If anyone has a link to a post that covers this or if anyone has time and is willing to explain the whole tea thing to this old couple would greatly appreciate it.
