ok so anyways, i went up to one of the od girls i had goin, and upon checking it out i noticed a nematode-ish elbow growth in about the middle of her. although it looked dry and woody so i was a little concerned but not too bad, then when trying to do a little bit of lst, i was a little bit shaky and managed to SNAP the damn thing right in half horizontally. unfortunately it the top had a lot of branches and woulda been a nice addition to the yeild, so far i cut back the woddy bits and shaved the stem into and intersecting v shape, do you think this girl can make it or should should i just pull out the jar of olivia's and try to clone the hell out of her? i know its too big to try and get the top half to re-root.
thanks

I snapped a HUGE stem on a blue dream this morning... happens about once a week. anyhow, I'll take a pic later, but what I did was I took a foot long very thin bamboo stake and made a splint with that and stretchy green garden tape. Just as stretchy as e-tape, which will work fine, but the green garden stuff allows photosynthesis to happen through it. Probably doesn't make a difference.

Marijuana is a great healer. I haven't lost a branch yet!

There was an identical post a few days ago. One of the replies was to split a soda straw up one side, insert the stem into the straw. The straw will expand as the stem grows. There are a lot of ways to spint a broken stem, but I'd never heard that one. Last time I broke one I just made a clone of it.

well i scraped it down because at the break site it was all woody like, whereas above and below it was green, i wanted the still good green tissue to be in contact instead of some dried up wood thing that wouldnt be likely to regrow

have you fixed a snapped stem before? if not you are assuming something won't be likely to regrow.

This plant is amazing at fixing itself. I snap stems just to keep them under lights, toss some green tape around the damaged area and it keeps on growing.

how long did it take to be dried wood? didn't this just happen?

have a pic?

tape it, support it and it will be fine.

UNLESS it hermies under stress which week plants can do so keep an eye on that as well.

he is growing like a big tree kind of style, and the branch is older and has bark, hes doing it just like you would if you were cloning a woody branch or grafting a woody branch, id just say put it together and then duct tape like crazy like said

use tape of any kind (thus far ive seen electrical, clear, duct, and masking tape work) also band-aids work.

Usually if you repair it fast it won't even slow down for more then like a few hours and itll come back stronger

I've split a branch almost all the way off during budding. On accident. So i just taped it to some bambo sticks. An those where the funkiest buds on the plant. Its just like breaking a arm. Just splint it an it will heal.

thanks everybody for the help. like i said it was two seperate pieces of bush and i tried a quick fix but went back the next day and it was totally apart and wilting bad, took the top piece and put it in a jug of water and put on some old olivia's i had and the bastard is rooting. so now i just gotta figure if i should try to finish it outside this year or just veg it out and let it do its thing inside.

like budly said in big bushing it. gotta love those trees.

Yeah I had a shelf fall down on top of my Black Domina during flower, broke the main stem in 4 places! I used 2 straws, split down the middle, and places the injured stem in between and used the green tape as others suggested in this thread. It slowed maturation a bit because it had to heal itself, but it turned out great in the end!

Also, I removed the "splint" about a week later and there were 4 knuckles on the plant but it was fine!
