Anyone tried sure to grow

I got a sample at the Detroit Expo. Iv been loking for a way to get plants started for my RDWC.I was using Rockwool cubes but wasnt real happy with them.I got a seed started in it now and this stuff looks pretty good. Its real light and airy. Holds just the right amount of water. No prep work required.

Micky,
I am also in the process of sorting this product out for myself, so I started this thread:

The STG R&D guy, Matt, has promised to resolve this week how many E&F buckets with STG inserts can be serviced by a single 55 gal. rez.

I'll be testing 9 buckets under a 1kw very soon to see how they perform next to hydroton.

Any real-world results you can add to the mix would be helpful.

Got a sample at the shop . Been usin grodan for hy and rooters plugs for soil . So far better than both . They gave me the lil blocks but I want to try the loose fill for my dwc . I've yet to try and wash them to re-use .

few weeks into using STG ebb and grow inserts.

1st impression was good.

System was loaded very quickly compaired to hydroton..and is very clean.
They do grow algea if you flood too high.

Most are still pearly white, but I have a few cylinder which got wet too high and grew some algea. Forget the one cylinder in a classic white bucket - its got algea all over it.

I am unsure of how often I should be flooding..doing 15min ever 3 hours in an ebb and grow unit w/ 24 buckets.

I am experiencing an issue I'm unfamiliar with on many clones. While some are well on their way..others are growing no up top foilage, but have formed a massive stem stem where they go into the rooter. They also have roots growing out of the bottom of the STG cylinder... but they are not taking off. What causes this?

Will post more info on the STG Ebb inserts as the grow progresses.
