Late AF crop in greenhouse

Hello,

i want to know if in your opinion is possible to complete an autoflower cycle in a greenhouse starting in august/september. I live in southern europe in a temperate climate so no frost until late november / december. I know the light hours can be an issue, i can start vegging indoor eventually and move outdoor for flowering.

Thanks in advance

If you have a true 100% Autoflower strain that is going to flower on a 24/7 light schedule its going to finish in 8-10 weeks from seed depending on strain.

Thanks S_a_H, so you think this gonna work outdoor despite the shorter day light of the autumn?

Peace

itll work no problem, buds might be a little airy, but you could use a flower hardner to combat that problem

Hey DrBudGreengenes, just do a google search.

It's Humbolt County's Own brand called gravity flower hardener

"Gravity Flower Hardener contains active amino acids that can increase the size and mass of your flowers, fruits and vegetables! Our customers say they see the difference in just 1 or 2 days.

Humboldt County's Own proprietary kelp extract includes phosphorus, 0.75% kelp extract and 0.01% vitamin B1. Gravity's concentrated formula requires only one or two treatments late in the bloom cycle, so a little goes a long way.

Use this additive with your current plant nutrient regime, but nutrient concentration should be reduced by about 1/3 when applying Gravity Flower Hardener. If plants are grown under HPS lighting, lights should be raised an additional 6-12 inches."

The instructions say for soil use 1-2 teaspoons per gallon. An 8 oz. bottle is about ~$25.

Gravity has a good reputation. And this is not about adding nutrients but signalling the plant to be extra aggressive in absorbing and applying existing nutrients toward flowering buds. It is a "finisher" not a nutrient per se.

(This is also why you want to have nutes lower when adding Gravity and other such products; increasing already over-nutrient'ed plant uptake will only make things worse!)

EDIT: It also has a bad reputation among those who use it wrong / too much. 1/3rd or 1/2 strength of labeled directions at most. It can burn your plants to cinders...

youll have time to run autos for sure, but u may also want to calculate the daylight cycle and see when the light is in flower range for outdoor cannabis in your area, what im saying is that you could start some better quality seeds then autos indoors and veg them for two weeks, then swtich them to flower and put them in your greenhouse and still have time before the frost arrived to ripen them fully, the reason i say this is because autos dont yeild that much and if the lights going to be weak from fall/winter arriving it will just make it worse for your yeild, autos are strictly for in my opinion quick outside crops when other options arent available....u also have to remeber that they mold easy, its bascially a plant with half its genetic code in the less then ideal condition, its ditch weed crossed with the bomb,, slower growth initially, mold suseptable, but if u want autos, go with something with ak in it, its the only one that seems to have a consistand oucneish yeild,, autos are fun, enjoy

Hey Doc, I'm not endorsing the stuff by any means. It's kind of funny how you mention its snake oil. After I made that post I started thinking about all of the specialty additives that are out there that claim enormous benefit for your plants. After reading the intro label for most of them, it starts to sound like a Billy Mays commercial.

OK thanks all for the tips.

@Leviathan: AF easy to mold? Half its genetic code? I dont think so, the ruderalis part helps against hostile climates imho, do you have evidence about this?

@Sam: this is going:off2:

Sorry Krull.

This late in the season, I wouldn't think you would be limited to using AFs. I'd be willing to say any short flowering sativa would do better than an AF. You might want to look in the 12/12 from seed thread and find some strains that do well with a blooming light cycle from the start. If I remember correctly, they said that Early Misty does really well.

I don't have anything against AFs, I think they are just good for mid-summer type of harvests.

yes and yes again!
the ruderalis part helps against hostile climates
it isn't true in case of lowryder. now I see difference between outdoor genetic wich were growing out for centuries! and cannabis wich was breeded indoor. Ruderalis crosses are much more resistance and have grow potential/yield.
