Funny and Sad Tail of two growers in the mid west

Ok, ive transplanted to the west coast. But two of my oldest friends recently started a small indoor grow in the mid west with a few different mid level strains.

I get a text Saturday night from one of them saying they had their shit jacked. Seemed a bit odd when dude didnt want to talk about it. Hes the hot headed sort.

This morning i get a call from his roommate my other friend. He says, dude have you talked to him? I told him what communication we had had. He says "I dont know how stupid this M F'er thinks i am but the door was locked and the wall ticket out from the inside..I started laughing...he didnt.

So he calls me back about an hour later. I guess he went and talked to the neighbor and the guy told him he had seen the roommate walking back and fourth between the garage and this corn field the other night at like 4am.

They walk over there and there are all their plants sitting in the corn field. Dude is flipping the F out. Hes a big ass body building MMA sort, so my other buddy is probably going to get his ass kicked.

Funny and sad story i thought id share.

In college I grew a massive plant under a vertical 400hps. I put a female clone in a 15 gallon rubbermaid of soil and hung a 400w bulb over it. I vegged it to about 3 foot tall and wide before flowering. The plant was two weeks into flowering barely any frost and tiny buds when my former room-mate stole it.

Some back story. We grew some plants at our apartment and split the buds we got. I did most of the growing and we used his room, an even trade. I wanted to upgrade so I worked out a deal with a mutual friend with a house to grow upwards of 3k watts and basically rent out the space at his house. My room mate didn't once help with all the work needed to take care of this monster plant under the 400w but some how felt entitled to some proceeds. I asked him why he thought he would get anything if he never once watered the plant let alone even seen it in the last two months. He didn't have an answer.

So two weeks later, with the plant two weeks into flower the mutual friend stops taking my calls and changes his locks. I show up with a baseball bat and end up scaring him into opening the door where he claims I owe him $300 for two months of electricity, I had given him $200 already. I told him I've seen his electricity bill and how much per KwH he's charged and I know how much a single 400w bulb and one fan uses and it's not $500 for two months. Then he claims he sold my plant to collect the money i owed him and sold some of my equipment. I ended up with my light back and not much else.

The plot thickens here. My room mate claims he knows nothing about this and to leave him out of it. At this point we are no longer room mates because of his attitude towards me. I still have a key as I'm still locked into a lease for one more month with him. I show up when he's out and what do I find? My premature plant (half of the buds at least) hanging under the sink to dry, mold waiting to happen i know!

So I'm angry beyond it. I take what's left for sure. I also took his nice bong and left him a little note. I never heard from them again but know for a fact karma caught up to them. I later found out that a third friend bought the missing buds and sold some bunk 2 week flowering herb to some poor kids.

People will steal and lie to your face all day long, no partners and no one knows it's the only real way to do it.

Holly crap, that story should be on Jerry Springer. LOL!! I just have never understood stealing something that grows. In the case of my friends, this kid did more damage then he could have possibly gained out of his extra earnings. Everyone he knows now things he's a shady prick.

Today I found an expensive phone and returned it lol. but damn yeah people are idiots what do they save themselves half a grow? If they couldnt start the plant how they think theyre gonna not kill it trying to finish it. prolly over nute & over water it, if they knew how to care for it they wouldnt steal, ignorance plain and simple, if i cant have the weed noone can is their though process

I had to put a grow at a friends once looking back I regret it but I lucked out, he payed for all sorts of stuff and then was like i been seeing black trucks get these plants out of here lol ( if you are looking for black trucks you will be more biased to notice them )

yahhhh, human greed and people without morals lead to all sorts of bad shit.

I did a joint op with a bud and a small 150 at his place. We grew out a few small plants and split it, but neither of us felt we were well reimbursed for our efforts. You could tell he was pissed to give me my share, but I was over there all the time, tended to it, bought the equipment for it and still took the lesser share.

You learn important lessons about trust with roommates in college. Once I had accidently left an O of 8th bags out in the living room, when I got back I realized I had blatantly left the buds out in the open and sure enough, each bag weighed out .2 to .4 less than originally. Then, with another roommate I had a small bubblicious plant worth about 45g. I wound up coming back to at least 10 g taken from that and I was waiting for it to cure more. If you let your roomies know that "you are where the weeds at" they will take advantage of you to a high extent imho.

Silence is golden, forget impressing your friends, keeping your flowering cannabis away from any prying eyes is a good idea. For some people its just like staring at a chest of gold, they get this crazy look in their eye and u never know who could get wasted one day and come up with the idea to jack someone.

Yeah the expectation for the compensation amount fuels this greed. I put some plants on my buddies roof this summer hiding in his wisteria. We talked about him getting a little more then me for supplying the place, then it quickly turned into 75/25...ahh. Although when i first started out my roommate and i rocked out a 4k room for two years together and had no issues.

As for how i feel about stealing the goods. You lose more in the long run then you gain in that short burst of cash.

If a shit bag rips you off, they lack the soul to keep things quiet. In the end, as long as it's not severe, I'd much rather kick a supposed friend to the curb for stealing, rather than ratting me out. Sometimes a rip is a small price to pay to avoid a big surprise in the future.
