I neg repped him because I checked my walmart as well as the online store. In my experience the online store lists ALL products even ones the stores dont carry. Yes my walmart is a super walmart. It would piss me off personally if I went in there askin Qs and acting suspicious based on what someone said.
On their site if I put fertilizer it doesnt find anything tho, I just realized that, and obviously they do carry fertilizers so I take that back. But the fact still remains your walmart is most likely an exception as I frequent many of them in different counties and have never seen any kind of fertilizers that are marketed for hydroponic purposes.
For instance at both walmart & acehardware's sites if you type hydroponics, hydro, foxfarm, anything.. 0 results, but I guess its possible the store manager is able to add products to his lineup based on the local demographic. Let me guess you live near a city notorious for medical marijuana production or something?
