UK Greenhouse Bag Seed 9' tall - Problems

I've has 2 plants growing just from some bag seed for a few months in my greenhouse. They grew 4' in 3 weeks while on holiday and they have been topped once and I have now dug a 2' hole in the floor to give more head room.

From looking at them they appear to be a sativa strain and probably not suited to my UK greenhouse. I have a friend who grows a lot indoors and is certain that these will not flower. All opinions welcome...

Pests - Something is biting my leaves. Any ideas

picture.php

It is quite humid in there so didn't think it would be sider mite but might be? I haven't seen any webs or colonies of mites.

I did see a single white mite that was so small it was hardly distinguishable from a spec of dust. It wasn't on the plants but nearby hanging from a thread. Has anyone heard of White Spider Mite?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Maybe enlarge the hole a wee bit, transplant the plats and backfill with a good grow mix. That's my concern with bagseed. They may have come in some great weed, but the growth/ behavior is unknown.

Taking into account your location and the sativa looking nature of your plants , id say that you wont get them to go the distance unless the UK has an ' indian summer '.....which seems unlikely. However , its likely that they will get at least another 8 weeks of decent light so bubble sacking your harvest into hash is possibly the way to go.

the bites look like some sort of random insect i woulden't worry about it to much .....all outdoor plants get munched by some sort of bug if it gets really bad i would consider a mild pesticide...best of luck with the grow

Some good advise in the above posts!

- Pots are to small so repot if u havent already cos they wont produce much in those, u need to do it quick (like yesterday) so it doesnt stress em to much!

-Those plants are flowering already, i wouldnt top/trim them any more as this will slow them down( flowering), just gently bend/train them to stop them overgrowing the greenhouse!

- Think ul get a bit off bud as long as the weather doesnt get to damp, watch for mould as they flower, if they dont finish as cry tuff says bubbling them up is always an option!

- Dont worry bout the leaves outdoor plants will always have a bit of damage from pests of some sort, no real harm there, just carry on as normal!

otherwise enjoy your grow! :joint:

I feel more confident now after comments. I'm gonna go repot now and take a visit to the grow shop on Saturday to get some organic bloom fertiliser to give them the nutrients they need.

Fingers crossed for some good smoke in a few months.:joint:

Just go for it fella. Water the plants, transplant, then water through throughly in the new pot.

Definately agree with daddy fingaz too, don't top it any more, find ways to tie it over instead. You're best off doing the tieing before you water though, the stems and branches can be easier to snap when the plant is well hydrated.

inapond13 - I grew in a northern U.K greenhouse a few years back, I grew mostly indica types but i did have two sativa plants.

I made it until the last week in October, then the mould almost got me, i caught it early so I only lost a few grams.

I had no heating. The only thing i did was to cover the green house in bubble wrap. They stock it at nearly all garden centres. It’s on a big roll so you just cut off how ever many meters you need. They also stock the plastic clips for attaching it

I covered all four walls, the roof and door (all on the inside). The light can still get through but it keeps the frost away and will keep it slightly warmer. Amazing for stealth as well.

Good luck man, just let them go as long as you can and check for mould every day. Pull them as soon as you see the slightest sign

Edit - Also at that size you should get a decent harvest, I only weighed 2 of my indicas but combined they were 9oz of proper bud, i bubble bagged the popcorn and trim. so you should be fine for smoke for a while lol

Just been and bought a couple of big Rhino Flexi Tubs from Asda - £3 each so can now do my transplanting - being flexible can squish them into my dugout hole :)

I also have electric heating in my greenhouse so will be able to keep the frost at bay (Thanks Dad - bought my house from my Dad). Can set it at whatever temp I want but bubblewrap will keep the costs down when it gets colder.

blazedndazed - If I get an oz will be very happy so if get more will be having a

Nice one  love the floor well..

The holes in the leaf are from previous whitefly infestation,, we got the same thing on a few glasshouse and outdoor plants,, its no biggy,, just keep checking the undersides of the leaf for gritters :joint:

Keep us updated :canabis:

Haha an oz should be well easy with plants that size, Mine were around 2" of the peak of the roof (its hard to gadge size, id say half a foot smaller than yours), My biggest cola was 40-50cm, i had to cut it in 3 just to get it in the cure jar :joint:

With the bubble wrap and heating you should be absoultly fine, Its still 80ish days till novermber and your already flowering, get those partys shoes ready

Firstly I needed to enlarge my pit for the bigger pots

And now I have a new structure in my back garden...

Here are my girls with their new pots - I think they look a little big for my 2' hole.

Lets make them fit...

And now the tubs in the pit with onr of the old pots as reference...

I also drilled a load of additional drainage holes aswell as the big slits in the bottom of the pots.

Before putting in the plants, I used my lawn aerator to put plenty of holes in the bottom of the pit to aid drainage - I've not got great ground soil - lots of coal and clay :(

I would have liked to go bigger but thats the size of my pit.

While I had them out of the pit, it was a bit windy so they needed some help to stay upright...

And now they ate sitting in their final location - welcome home girls...

I also got some Advanced Nutrients - Mother Earth Super Tea to give them a feed. Was recommended from the grow shop.

Now, with a little TLC, the right nutrients, hopefully some good sun at the end of the year, these 2 little girls will do me proud :)

I thought I'd post an update so you can see:

I'm happy with the progress at the moment but feel they will need at least 6 more weeks to mature. What do you think???
